Thank You All.

Dear parishioners,

The events of this past weekend have included a wonderful evening in our parish centre where the parish reflected on the 26 years we have spent together as rector and parishioners. You very kindly expressed thanks for my efforts during that time. We received the most generous gifts and presentations, which left us truly speechless. We thank you all most sincerely.

We reflect as a family on the kind support we have received over these past years. Ministry is an activity of the whole parish and not just the clergy. Your vision, hopefulness, patience and inclusive spirit have brought the parish forward, and I thank you for being so supportive of the changes that were necessary to adjust to an ever-transforming community in Leixlip and Lucan.

As I said on the evening, my emotion at this time is one of thankfulness for all that has been and for the wonderful people I have met and shared their lives with while among you all.

God's presence among us is not dependent on any personality or gifts. The Jesus who meets us on the road, who walks with us, will continue with us all into the future. We pray as a family for the parish in this time of transition. In time another rector will come among you all, and I know you will give them the same wonderful support that I have known among you. I know that you will give a new rector the time to identify and build upon the strengths of the parish as they bring their specific skills to bear in building into the future a wonderful community of faith.

Many thanks to you all. I greatly value the words of the blessing at Pentecost and share it with you now.

The spirit of truth, lead you into all truth, give you grace to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and to proclaim the wonderful works of God. Amen

Scott, Sandra and the Peoples family.

What a weekend. Thank you everyone.

Sunday Service

29/11/2025

On Friday I had my final service with the school on St. Andrew's tide. Thank you to the 5th class and their teachers for the service of the day. One of my predecessors, Canon Eric Despard, wrote the school prayer. It could not be surpassed and I decided to provide the school with a school hymn. Here it is and I hope the school will enjoy it.
