✨ Sunday Recap ✨

This Sunday at SMC South, we kicked off our new series, The Church We See.

Ps Des shared from Proverbs 29:18, reminding us that where there is no vision, people perish. God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to be a people who see and embrace His vision for our lives and community.

Looking at 1 Samuel 14, we were inspired by Jonathan's faith and courage as he stepped out to face the Philistines, supported by his armour-bearer who stood with him wholeheartedly. Together, they remind us that God can do great things through those willing to step out in faith.

As a church, our heart is to reach our community, reclaim what the enemy has stolen, and see lives transformed by the power of Jesus.

This series continues over the coming weeks as Pastors Des and Judith share the vision and heart for SMC South. We can't wait to see all that God has in store.

This Sunday was a little out of the ordinary, and we couldn't be prouder! 💛

A team of incredible women from our church walked, jogged, and ran the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon to raise funds for sweet, brave 7-year-old Selah, who is fighting a rare lymphatic disorder.

Our entire church family stood behind them with love, prayers, and support. We are so blessed and honored to be part of such an amazing community. They truly ran for a cause worth running for! ✨🏃‍♀️

Well done, ladies — and thank you, church family, for standing with us and with Selah. 💜

Ps Des spoke so powerfully this Sunday from one of the most profound chapters in the Bible — Romans 8. 🙏

A few key takeaways:

1️⃣ You can’t live for God without God.
We need the Spirit of God to lead, guide, and direct our ways. Even when we don’t know what to pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. We must continually rely on Him in every season.

2️⃣ No Condemnation
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
The devil condemns, but Jesus came to set us free. In Him, we are forgiven, loved, and redeemed.

3️⃣ No Separation
Nothing on this earth can separate us from the power of His love. No circumstance, struggle, or fear is greater than the love of God.

Sunday Recap ❤️

The Gospel That Delivers 🙌

This Sunday, Judith brought a powerful reminder from Romans 7 — the tension so many of us feel every day. The tug of war between what we want to do and the power to actually do it.

Paul reminds us that the law was never meant to save us. It shows us the standard, but it has no power to change the heart.

Just like an x-ray or medical report can reveal the problem but can not provide the remedy, the Law exposes our sin but can not heal us from it. That’s why Jesus came. Not only to reveal the problem, but to become the remedy.

“I have the desire to do what is good, but I can not carry it out.” — Romans 7:18

The Gospel is the good news that we are not left stuck in our struggle. Through Jesus, we are released from what once bound us and empowered to live a new life by His Spirit.

“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” — Romans 7:24-25 🙌

A powerful message and reminder that our freedom, strength, and victory are found in Christ alone.
