Why Hard Exercise Is Not Always the Right Starting Point
One of the biggest mistakes people make is thinking that if they have been told to exercise, they should jump straight into a demanding class.
That is not always wise.
In fact, for many people, it can be completely the wrong starting point.
If someone has been inactive for a long time, recovering from a stroke, dealing with heart problems, coming back from an accident, struggling with pain, living with stiffness, or simply feeling weak and deconditioned, the body may not be ready for intense exercise.
And when the body is pushed beyond what it can currently cope with, the result can be:
more pain
more fatigue
more fear
more tightness
more discouragement
and sometimes giving up altogether
That is why the starting point matters so much.
Just because someone has been advised to exercise does not mean they should be thrown into something too hard, too fast, too soon.
They often need to begin with:
gentle movement
simple mobility
careful reawakening of muscles and joints
breath awareness
posture awareness
body confidence
learning how to move without fear
People literally need to start from the beginning.
And there is no shame in that.
In fact, that can be the smartest and safest thing they ever do.
You do not build a strong house on a weak foundation.
The same applies to the body.
That is why I believe Somatix can play such an important role.
Somatix is gentle, supportive, and realistic.
It meets people where they are.
It helps create a foundation.
It helps the body prepare for more movement over time.
For many people, it is the bridge between being stuck and moving forward again.
And sometimes that bridge changes everything.
