Thanks Cait for the lovely welcome back flowers, and to all who called today. A lovely start to September.

Singing Circle tomorrow from 7pm

Sandra is here this weekend (a place has opened up, so contact her if you want to be spoiled and renewed by the sea, poster below!), and Mary and I will be in Corofin with the Burren Outdoor Retreat.

Then on Monday the first of two ignatian directed retreats begin here with guests from across the island and across the ocean! Looking forward to some beautiful days.

On top of that its Season of Creation! Have you listened to Pope Leos challengng and encouraging messsage to you for this season:

"Today, we are witnessing many crises and much human suffering. At the same time, it seems that the disruption to the harmonious balance of creation is accelerating. These phenomena are not unrelated; they are a single plea for healing and peace arising from a wounded world. ... Today we Christians begin the Season of Creation. It's a beautiful season added by Pope Francis, and adopted by all mainstream Christian churches.

Lovely resources and events happening, including loads and loads of parishes blessing animals on the final day, the feast of St Francis of Assisi.

SEASON OF CREATION 2026. From September 1 to October 4, we join Christians around the world in celebrating the Season of Creation, a time to thank God for the gift of creation and renew our commitment to care for our common home.

This year’s theme is “Living Water,” inspired by Ezekiel 47:9, 12, where water flowing from the Temple brings life and healing wherever it goes.

Everyone can take part in the Season of Creation, even in simple ways: pray for creation, conserve water and electricity, reduce waste, avoid unnecessary plastics, plant and care for trees and plants, and keep our surroundings clean. Our small daily choices can become acts of gratitude and care for God’s creation.

May this season help us recognize creation as God’s gift and inspire us to become better stewards of our common home.

The singing circle is back this Thursday!

Come join us for songs, stories and laughter. On this Thursday night we're singing again after the summer break. All are welcome to come listen, sing or share a story or a poem.

A chairde, after a busy and lovely summer, we return to retreats in FCJ Spirituality House, Spanish Point this weekend.

The Burren Outdoor Retreat is happening from the Corofin base. and theres a private retreat in Spanish Point.

On Monday Sept 7th, our last 8 day directed retreat of the year begins with Deirdre Ni Chinneide and Joe Hayes SJ, (1 place remaining - see https://fcjspiritualityhouse.ie/event/eight-day-ignatian-directed-retreat-sept-7th/
for details).

There are lots of places for commuters (those near enough to travel each day). Unfortunately, most of the residential places are filled (we will have a waiting list). Interested?

FCJ Centre for Spirituality and EcoJustice, London and FCJ Liverpool have come together to create this interesting course.

Now they are sharing the opportunity to offer this in person at FCJ Spirituality House, Spanish Point with the final evening in November connecting up the three groups online.

A lovely opportunity to share talent, resources and community. An important conversation about AI, the human person and the purpose and dignity of life.
