Thursday June 11th
Guest Speaker: Fr Paul Murphy
There are moments in life when the Gospel is not just preached, it is lived. When compassion triumphs over fear and when mercy and understanding rise above anger, this is where the human heart reveals something of the Heart of Christ. Fr Paul Murphy is a priest whose ministry continues to reflect this courage and compassion. As a Defence Forces chaplain, he embraced and forgave the young boy who stabbed him, because Fr Paul believes deeply in the power of mercy that restores rather than condemns. He understands that forgiveness is not weakness it is a choice to see the person behind the wound and the goodness that still lives in all of us.
Friday June 12th
Guest Speaker: Willie Collins
Willie Collins is a former director of Aiséirí who worked with individuals and families affected by addiction, offering not only professional support but genuine understanding. Willie speaks of addiction as a heavy burden, often wrapped in shame, fear and loneliness, and the importance of having the belief that every person has the capacity to change, rebuild, and rediscover the goodness within themselves. We know that healing and forgiveness is not a simple process, but through understanding and tolerance we can walk with people through the journey of recovery.
