South Monaghan Parkinson's Support Group: In the past few months a number of individuals, relatively recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, have got together to support each other by sharing their stories and helping each other out. This small group are finding their shared experience a comfort and support as they enter uncharted waters. The group would like to extend an invitation to anyone suffering with Parkinson’s disease, or family members to make contact to help others in a similar situation. Director of Safeguarding: We wish to inform you that there have been significant changes in the leadership of the Diocesan Safeguarding team in the Diocese, since the beginning of August. Martha Smyth has stepped down as Director of Safeguarding but retains her role as Designated Liaison Person. Deirdre Boyle who is currently Chairperson of the Diocesan Safeguarding Committee has also now been appointed as Director of Safeguarding.
We sincerely thank Martha for the professionalism & generosity she brought to the role, over the past few years. Martha has provided great leadership especially in relation to the Review of Safeguarding in the Diocese which was carried out by the NBSCCCI.We assure both Martha & Deirdre of our continued prayerful support in the time ahead.

Mission Sunday 20th October: World Mission Sunday is a time for all of us to show appreciation towards the work of overseas missionaries. The Theme this year is ‘Go and invite everyone to the banquet’ (cf Matthew 22:9). World Mission Sunday is the Holy Father’s annual appeal to support overseas mission and missionaries. Missio Ireland is the Pope’s official charity for this purpose. Please support as best you can.

Matt Talbot Mass: The Parish of Culmaine, together with the Matt Talbot Prayer Society will be hosting a Mass on Monday 7th October in St Joseph’s, Ederney at 7.30pm mass. The purpose of the mass is to pray to the Lord, the source of healing, for all who are affected directly or indirectly by addiction in our society. We will also pray for all who are working with or who are providing services for recovery from addiction and those helping family and friends of addicts to cope with the burden placed on them. People attending will be offered the opportunity to join the Matt Talbot Prayer Society. Our prayer will complement the efforts of many groups, facilities and counsellor already working to alleviate the suffering of addiction, one of the great scourges in our society. It will also be held in conjunction with other Matt Talbot masses which take place on the first Monday of each month. All are welcome.

South Monaghan Parkinson's Support Group: In the past few months a number of individuals, relatively recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, have got together to support each other by sharing their stories and helping each other out. This small group are finding their shared experience a comfort and support as they enter uncharted waters. The group would like to extend an invitation to anyone suffering with Parkinson’s disease, or family members to make contact to help others in a similar situation.
