Lovely to welcome recruits from 12 Platoon JITC to the Church of the Sacred Heart, the Church of the Defence Forces as part of their visit to Arbour Hill Cemetery and the National Museum of Ireland (Collins Barracks) and Post 1 IUNVA. What an absolute privilege today to join +Paul Dempsey and my fellow Defence Force Chaplains in the celebration of the Requiem Mass and graveside Prayers and reflections for the executed leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising. An honour to have Uachtaráin na hEireann, members of the Oireactas, the Judiciary, General Staff, Diplomatic Corps and relatives of the executed leaders present. We were blessed with both the music provided by Colaiste Mhuire and the weather.
