Athlone Franciscans We are a fraternity of Franciscan friars in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, seeking to live the Gospel through the example of our founder Saint Francis of Assisi.

Our friars are involved in a range of work such as church ministry, retreat-giving, spiritual direction, prison ministry, schools chaplaincy, youth work and ministry to those suffering from addictions. The Friary serves as a House of Studies for the Franciscans in Ireland and Great Britain, where post-novitiate students reside whilst studying at the national seminary in Maynooth.

* Sunday Masses: Vigil 7.30pm, 9.30am and 11am
* Masses on Weekdays and Saturday: 8am Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and 10am Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
* St. Anthony’s Novena: Tuesdays at 10am and 7.30pm
* Confessions: Tuesday t, 10.30-12.30pm and 3-5pm / Saturday 10.30-12.30pm, 6pm - 7pm
* Friary Office opening hours: Monday, 9.30am-5.0pm. Saturday 9.00am - 2pm
