TRINITY SUNDAY, May 31st 2026

,God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.'
John 3:16

This Sunday is the Feast of the Blessed Trinity and we reflect on our God being made up of three persons.
It is a central mystery of our faith. St.Patrick cleverly used the shamrock to explain to our ancestors how God is the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. It is good to make the sign of the Cross in the name of the Trinity at the beginning and end of each day.
When you make the sign of the Cross do it slowly: pronounce carefully the names of the persons of the Trinity. In doing so, you bring alive today's feast day. πŸ™

We thank the children, families and teachers for working so well together.

Also, congratulations to the five teenagers who took part in β€˜Junior RCIA’ and who were confirmed by Bishop Tom in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Mullingar on Saturday evening, May 23rd.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION WEEKENDS. πŸ™β›ͺ️

The sacrament of First Holy Communion will be
celebrated in our parish in the coming weeks.
This begins on Saturday, May 9th with the children from St. Declan’s Primary School receiving the Holy Communion in three ceremonies.
The following weekend, May 16th, children from St Mary’s Primary School will celebrate the reception of the Sacrament.
On the weekend of May 23rd the children prepared from Gaelscoil na Cille and from the After School Parish Sacramental Programme will receive the Eucharist.

We look forward to these happy and family centred occasions in our Ashbourne Parish and we pray for all the boys and girls preparing for First Holy Communion. πŸ™
We ask Jesus to open their hearts to His love and friendship as they receive Him for the first time. May the Holy Spirit guide them, strengthen their faith, and fill them with joy as they prepare for this sacred, life-long, and joyous moment.
