We want to believe that following God's commandments will guarantee us financial rewards, but that's not always the case. Many Christians are wealthy, while many are not. Being affluent doesn't necessarily indicate God's blessing.

What Jesus conveys is that material possessions in this world won't matter in the eternal life. He simply wants us to follow Him.

Jesus doesn't require us to give away all our possessions, but He directs us to examine our relationship with money, our attachments to it, its potential to negatively influence our character, and how much we allow it to define us.

We should not let being rich become a central part of our identity. Our identity as Christians should primarily be as followers of God, whether rich or poor. Our ambitions shouldn't distract us from following Jesus.

We should constantly ask ourselves, "Does this help or distract me from following Jesus?"

Avoid being trapped in our riches, turning it into an idol. Let go of the obsession and discover how much more peace and fulfillment there is in following Jesus.

Never lose sight of what truly matters in life: God's Kingdom, the only enduring wealth. It is worth more than anything we leave behind.
