Latter-day Saint Women Stand

Latter-day Saint Women Stand Standing together reflects the divine nature and power with which latter-day Saint women are endowed to influence others for good. (Handbook 2, 21.1.22).

Latter-day Saint Women Stand is a an effort to join like-minded members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who share a desire to make a public stand as witnesses of Jesus Christ and in support of 'The Family: A Proclamation to the World’ Unequivocally, we sustain the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles—commissioned by God and sustained as prophets, seers, and revelat

ors—and support how the Lord has delegated priesthood authority to organize and administer the gospel among all of His children. Latter-day Saint Women Stand reflects latter-day saint women from around the world with varying ages, backgrounds, locations, and professions who believe that women have a powerful opportunity to be a force for good both in the Church and online. This endeavor was established to invite all latter-day saint women to stand together in a positive online community. It is a safe haven and gathering place for women to join in doctrinally sound and uplifting gospel conversations in an atmosphere of loyalty to those whom the Lord has authorized to lead His church. Latter-day Saint Women Stand focuses on positive relationships and conversations that bring women closer to Jesus Christ. Latter-day Saint women worldwide need to have a place where they can stand strong together and have a conversation—as friends in the same room would—guided by the Spirit, remembering the example of Jesus Christ, and heeding the direction He gives through His prophets and apostles. By establishing Latter-day Saint Women Stand, we will gather and unite like-minded women. Going forward, it is hoped that you will develop a desire to extend these conversations into your own spheres of influence, whether in the home, at work, at church, or in the community. Guidelines on Discussion and Tone

Latter-day Saint Women Stand effort will consistently follow the counsel from Elder M. Russell Ballard that "every disciple of Christ will be most effective and do the most good by adopting a demeanor worthy of a follower of the Savior… The Apostle Paul has admonished us to not be 'ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation' (Romans 1:16). Let us all stand firmly and speak with faith in sharing our message with the world" (Ensign, July 2008). With this in mind, anything contentious, contrary to or criticizing the teachings, doctrines, or leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will not be welcome. Responsibility to Stand as Witnesses

Latter-day Saint Women Stand is not an official page of the Church. However, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we strive to follow the counsel provided in Handbook 2: Administering the Church, which addresses social media use: "Members are encouraged to use the Internet to flood the earth with testimonies of the Savior and His restored gospel. They should view blogs, social networks, and other Internet technologies as tools that allow them to amplify their voice in promoting the messages of peace, hope, and joy that accompany faith in Christ." Elder Dallin H. Oaks advises, "The consequence of our failing to speak out as witnesses of God are evident in our Savior's teaching about the salt that has 'lost its savour.' Mixed with other substances — just as we can be diluted by the values of the world — it loses its unique influence on the mixture of the mass. As the Savior taught, it is 'thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men'" (Matthew 5:13). (BYU-Idaho Devotional, 25 Feb 2014). This page is now administered solely by founder Kathryn Skaggs.

Today, my heart is full.

I recently learned that I am going to be a great-grandmother.

As I have pondered this precious little girl who will soon join our family, I have found myself reflecting on generations—those who came before me, those who walk beside me now, and those who will follow after I am gone.

There was a time when I was the tiny child being welcomed into mortality by loving parents, grandparents, and ancestors whose lives helped shape my own. Many of those precious people have now returned home to our Heavenly Father, and over the years, I have had the bittersweet privilege of sending them onward, trusting that our separation is only temporary.

And now, by His grace, I am here to witness the arrival of another generation.

I am awestruck by this moment in time. What a sacred privilege it will be to welcome a great-granddaughter into this earthly life—to hold her, love her, and watch her begin her journey.

And then a tender thought came to me.

Just as others were here to welcome me when I arrived, this little one may one day be among those who lovingly send me onward when my mortal journey is complete.

What a beautiful reminder that we each arrive and depart according to the Lord's timing. We enter mortality, we learn, we love, we serve, and eventually we return home. Yet through it all, families continue, generations rise, and God's work moves steadily forward.

The Plan of Salvation is so beautiful.

Today I feel profound gratitude for those who welcomed and nurtured me, for those who have gone before, for those who walk beside me now, and for this sweet little girl whom I will soon have the joy of welcoming into mortality.

Until we meet again—through generations, through eternity, and through the loving plan of a Heavenly Father who makes all things possible.

“Let us be the reason someone chooses to stay on, or come back to, the covenant path.

Most of all, let us be the reason someone turns to Jesus Christ and discovers His mercy, His power, and His love.”

Life seems to move faster with every passing year, doesn’t it? 🥰

One minute we’re raising children, and the next we’re cheering on grandchildren at graduations, helping aging parents, rediscovering old dreams, traveling a little more, serving in new ways, or stepping into unexpected seasons of life.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how every season brings both joy and stretching.

What season of life are you in right now?

Grandparenting? Raising children? Empty nest? Caregiving? Retirement? Reinventing? Something entirely unexpected?

I’d love to hear.

On Memorial Day, my heart turns to gratitude. 🇺🇸

Gratitude for those who gave their lives in service to this country and for the families who quietly carried the weight of that sacrifice.

As women of faith, we understand something about devotion, sacrifice, duty, and love of country. The freedoms we enjoy did not come without cost, and today feels like an important moment to pause and remember.

May we never take for granted the blessings of freedom, family, faith, and the opportunity to stand for what we believe.

Wishing each of you a meaningful and peaceful Memorial Day as we remember those who gave so much. ❤️

As much as I would have loved to stay in Europe a little longer, home was calling. 💛

Within days of returning, I stepped right back into Nana life — watching three little grandchildren so mom and dad could enjoy a quick getaway. Then came celebrating a milestone we’re so proud of… our eldest grandson, Ethan, graduating from Cal State San Marcos with his degree in Computer Science. 🎓

Next up? A quick trip to Utah for another granddaughter’s high school graduation.

Life just keeps moving, doesn’t it?

Travel always gives me perspective. I love seeing beautiful places and experiencing the world, but coming home reminds me what matters most — family, precious moments, and showing up for the people we love in every season of life.

Somehow, between the adventures and the everyday moments, life feels beautifully full.

Sheri Dew said something at BYU Women’s Conference that faithful women today need to hear:

“Now is our time.”

I listened to Sheri Dew’s recent message and found myself reflecting deeply on what women of faith are being called to become in this moment.

In a world filled with noise, confusion, competing voices, and endless distraction, Sheri reminded us of the importance of developing “ears to hear and eyes to see what is important, true, and right.”

Her message wasn’t one of fear.

It was a call to confidence.

A reminder that strong women of faith are needed now more than ever.

Women who:

✨ Seek truth instead of noise
✨ Put God first, even when life pulls at us from every direction
✨ Live their faith with courage and conviction
✨ Lift, strengthen, and testify through how they live
✨ Help the rising generation see what faithful womanhood looks like

One message especially resonated with me:

We are not here at this moment in history by accident.

We were born for this time.

As women of faith, we know how to lead with love, discern truth, strengthen families, build faith, and bring light into difficult spaces. The world may grow louder, but faithful women do not need to grow fearful.

We need to grow stronger.

At a time when faith is often misunderstood or challenged, I remain deeply grateful for women who quietly—and sometimes boldly—choose discipleship, goodness, integrity, and faith in Jesus Christ.

We stand for faith.
We stand for truth.
We stand for families.
We stand for goodness.
And perhaps now more than ever… we stand together.

Did Sheri Dew’s message resonate with you? What part stayed with you most?

Every time I return to Europe on a river cruise, I’m reminded why I love this style of travel so much.

There are beautiful places and incredible experiences, of course… but also quiet moments.

Watching the river drift by. Lingering over conversations. Seeing places slowly instead of rushing through them.

This year, I happened to spend Mother’s Day while sailing on the river and away from my children — something that felt a little strange at first.

But somewhere between the peaceful mornings, beautiful scenery, and phone calls home, I found myself with something I don’t often make enough time for… quiet space to reflect.

On my children.
On my family.
On the many blessings of this season of life.

Motherhood has stretched, humbled, refined, and taught me more than almost anything else — and I found myself feeling deeply grateful.

I’ve realized over the years that meaningful travel isn’t really about checking places off a list.

Sometimes it gives us something we didn’t even realize we needed.

And somehow, river cruising through Europe never loses its magic for me. 🤍

I can’t say that nearly 47 years of motherhood has been easy, but I can say that it has humbled me, stretched me, refined me, and taught me more than almost anything else in my life.

I also know Mother’s Day can sometimes feel complicated. I know it did for me when I was younger… so many expectations, worries, and moments where I wondered if I was getting any of it right.

But time has a way of softening some things and clarifying others.

Today, each of my five adult children makes me proud for completely different reasons. I often tell people that my children are some of the most incredible people I know, and I feel deeply blessed to be their mother.

I’m especially grateful for the gospel plan that teaches us that families are eternal… because honestly, it would not be heaven to me without my children and the joy they — and now their families — bring into my life.

Someone once said that our children will teach us more than we ever teach them.

I have found that to be absolutely true.

Happy Mother’s Day

Budapest at night from the river.

No matter how many times I see this city, this moment never gets old.

This is one of the things I love most about river cruising through Europe…

the evenings, the reflections on the water, the feeling of slowly moving through the heart of a city while everything glows around you.

It’s hard to fully capture how magical it feels in person.

Back in Budapest this week—and back on the river.

I’ve traveled this way through Europe many times, and I come back to it again and again.

There’s just something about moving from place to place along the river…
watching each city slowly come into view, stepping off and into history in a way that never feels rushed.

It’s a completely different way to experience Europe.

And for me, it never loses its magic.

I’m looking forward to taking it all in again this week.
