During a long mission or extended trip, feelings of homesickness can arise. The familiar comforts of home become more appreciated, and the landscapes of our homeland seem more beautiful. This longing is even stronger for those who think of home while in exile or captivity. The experience of a captive is different; they might find amusement in the sorrow of someone yearning for their homeland. Even if we cannot sing joyfully to entertain others, we can still express our deep longing for our eternal homeland, along with our loyalty and love, despite our sorrow. Importantly, it’s not just the beauty of the landscape that draws us in, but also the glorification of the Lord that enriches this sentiment.
