Walking the Path of Vocation with Sr. Sara
✨ DAY 4: IN MISSION ✨
📌 Theme: The Spiritual Foundation of Mission – Living in the Spirit Instead of Exhaustion
How often do we feel completely overwhelmed by endless tasks, duties, and responsibilities? When we strive to give our best and serve others, it is easy to ignore our own limits and fall into stress and exhaustion. Blessed Sára Salkaházi’s honest reflections remind us that even the most dedicated people face fatigue and overwork. True mission is not our own feverish project, but participating in God's work. The answer is not to escape our duties, but to remain rooted in the Holy Spirit—doing our work together with God and letting His presence sustain our daily actions.
💬Quote from Sister Sára:
The Holy Spirit always comes as if it were for the first time. – Let us make this day into Pentecost! I reflect on the extent to which I embrace this reality that the Holy Spirit is dwelling within me. I very much felt the help of the Holy Spirit, especially this past Tuesday when I had to give a presentation. The Holy Spirit was very much with me – because my talk was successful! – I think I do all intellectual work – like community spiritual readings, speaking (lectures), and writing (articles) – together with the Holy Spirit. – How good it is to think of this! With the Spirit I am able to do it! – Yes, Yes, it is the Spirit, who gives me the thoughts. I only provide the hands and fingers to type them out. Come, Holy Spirit. Come with your grace! Enkindle within me the fire, the desire for work! And please, keep helping me with my work! (February 15, 1935)
📖 Scripture Passage
"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: 'Everyone is looking for you!' Jesus replied, 'Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.'" (Mark 1:35–38)
🤔 Reflection Questions:
📍 How do you experience your personal boundaries, and in what ways do you recognize the signs of fatigue in your life?
📍 How can you consciously invite the Holy Spirit into your daily work, tasks, and responsibilities today?
