It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and companion in mission, Roger JEAN (Tiden), who passed away suddenly early this morning. His creativity, when faced with a problem, was like no other—he always found a way. There was never a problem Tiden couldn’t fix creatively, and he was always there in a pinch.

His greatest desire in the world was to see others happy and healthy, and he would do anything possible to make that happen—from driving through the night to obtain life-saving medical care for someone (on multiple occasions), to bringing people together to repair sections of road so that critical supplies could get through, to helping the sisters with anything and everything. He has been a great friend and an integral part to our mission in Gros Morne and Haiti in general. We will miss him dearly.

He found great joy hosting people on his "beach" along the river, cooking up a feast like no other. He found pleasure sitting around the table playing dominos and listening to music with a easy deep belly laugh. We've lost a legend. May he rest in peace...

Friends, I am sure that many are hearing of the challenges that people are facing each day here in Haiti, or maybe you aren't because the press doesn't want people to focus on the needs of "those others". Well I want you to know that life is getting harder and harder by the day for many here in Haiti and our small group of RJM's in Haiti are still trying to do our part. Please remember us this Tuesday. Give at: www.rjmusa.org and help us build new homes, give loans to women who want to go small businesses to provide for their families, help with needed health care or just provide supplemental food to the elderly and handicapped. A little bit can go a long way.

Please excuse use for our lack of communication the past couple of months. With the pandemic we have been unable to have our volunteers in Haiti, who are always the brains behind our social media.

Despite the challenges of political instability and the pandemic we've been able to continue our work in Gros Morne, Jean Rabel, and Port au Prince. Please see our newsletter below to see many of our activities over the past year.

We are thankful to our many, many partners and donors who continue to provide us the means to continue our work in Haiti.

If you would like to support our work in Haiti please donate at https://rjmusa.org/support

It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Celianise, better known as Ma Marcel. Ma Marcel was not only a great friend to our RJM community, but of the Gwo Mon and Pendus area. She experienced a stroke around 3 years ago and has fought through every bit of recovery. She known to the greater Pendus community as the nurse and midwife they depended on, but was so much more to many people. She truly embodied meeting people where they are at. Many of our long-term volunteers spent time with her during their immersion week learning Kreyol, having unique Haitian experiences, and eating her amazing food. Koupe dwèt (delicious)! She was a faith-filled, strong, confident, caring, and intelligent woman. Please pray for her family and community as they mourn the loss of such an integral person in their lives and in the Gwo Mon area.

January 12, 2010 - Today marks 10 years since the earthquake. In a special way today we remember those who lost their lives and those who continue to feel the aftershocks of the devastation.

We also remember those who tried to help the injured immediately after the earthquake, especially Sister Isa Solá Rjm. She immediately went into action trying to save as many people as she could. Her passion to help the injured led to Atelye pwotez SEN JOZEF with the support of Projecte Haití, a center that continues to help those in need of prostheses and other orthopedic supports.
