I am blessed to share with you that SCM has a new treasurer / forwarding agent that is starting the first of this month. I have served the mission since 2010 and as treasurer since taking over from Shirley Kelly in 2013. I have been praying for someone with a heart to serve God by serving SCM and God, in His time provided that person.

It is with great joy that I introduce Stephanie Wijesinghe to you. She attends Bethany Christian Church in Dallas, GA, who is one of SCM’s long-term supporting churches and has two of the mission’s other board members in Andy Bresnock and Wayne Strickland attending. She will take over May 01, 2026 with me assisting her through the end of June 2026. She has a heart for serving the Lord through this mission and I look forward to her enthusiasm being shared with you, which I have been blessed to experience in our conversations.

This blessing of Stephanie will allowing me to serve in another path God has directed me on. I know my heart will always be with Melio and SCM. I long for the day when Haiti is safe to travel to once again and making a trip there to see in person, the completion of the school and all that God has done there! I will be available to Stephanie for any needs she may have.

Hi to all our our prayer warriors and supporters. It has been a little while since our last post, mostly due to the situation in Haiti not changing. The gangs are still in control of key locations including blocking National Rt #1 highway from Port-Au-Prince to Gonaïves.

However with that news comes some positive news, that the mission continues to be protected by our great God and His work is being done there.

We were able to send funds to repair the old church roof and raise it up to a better height as well as funds to repair the steps that were deteriorating on the security house inside the mission. Check out the pictures attached.

Thank you all and please continue the prayers for protection, provisions and peace for all in Haiti and SCM.

There are many things going on in Haiti currently that is depressing, discouraging and life threatening. However, we are not here today to speak of that, rather to share the joy and amazing blessings God is pouring out on the mission during such difficult times.

Put aside that we provide a church home for over 366 individuals, education for 443 children and jobs for 46 staff, feed 489 each school day and assist the mission and local village with fresh water, medicine and seeing doctors, all for $15,367.00 a month, what is stated below trumps all that by leaps and bounds in service to our God!

I want to share a text I got from Melio on February 19, 2026. This gives me so much joy, just knowing what little we do for the Lord and yet He gives so many blessings for accomplishments Sonlight Christian Mission is obtaining.

"Good afternoon Mr. Kenny, I pray this message finds everyone well at home. We are fine after 6 busy days. The 300 Haiti missionaries came to the mission and left yesterday. All went well with the revival, evangelization, and devotion during Marti Gras celebrations. 410 people accepted Christ during this time. Thank you for your financial support. We also added the solar panels to work on the new batteries. Once again, thank you for everything and may God bless you all forever, Melio"

Madi gras is normally a time for celebrating with much drinking, Voo Doo pratices and worldly living to say the least in Haiti. The thought of bringing 410 people to Christ in six days during this event shows the determination the mission and so many other followers of Christ have to change Hait from what it is to what it needs to be in our Lord Jesus. I know there is no way to place a value on one individual won to Christ, let alone 410!

We’ve spent the last weekend being thankful, navigating Black Friday, Rivalry Saturday, Cyber Monday and today…Giving Tuesday. The Bibles says in Proverbs 11:25, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Today in the town of Gonaives, Haiti four hundred children will be headed to school at Sonlight Christian Mission. Over the last twenty years God has been doing a great work to pave the way for this school to begin and grow to now 11 grades with plans to add the final 2 over the next couple years. None of it would happen without the refreshing generosity of others.

We are at the 2025 ICOM (International Conference on Missions) in Atlanta GA. We have been blessed to meet so many partners in the ministry and make the contacts we have. I pray for those connections to be praying for the mission and all its needs to be met. The picture below are some of the members of the board, starting from bottom left to top right; Kenny Lovelace, Melio Jean, Jean Claude St Juste, Wayne Strickland, Alex Bresnock, Andy Bresnock and Xan Griffith. I pray for Gods protection over J.W.Kelly and Garry Owens, two of our board members that couldn’t make it. I thank God we are able to be here and ask Him to use us and all our brothers and sisters in Christ here, to continue being His hands and feet.
