Would you please help us build homes for the people running from gang violence in Port Au Prince and across Haiti? They need a place for their families to live. Many of the people leaving their homes have come to Les Cayes, in the south of Haiti. The city of Les Cayes doesn’t have enough homes or apartments. We have room to create 5 apartments if we add a second story to The Community Center. The estimated cost is $15,000 U.S. per apartment. I need your financial support to complete the project and move forward with what we have started
Violence continues to force Haitians from their homes in Port Au Prince and the areas near Port Au Prince. Several years ago God blessed my family with a Community Center in Les Cayes. That Center has been a safe place for our family and community through hurricanes, floods, violence and earthquakes. It has been a refuge, a place to share our faith in God and hope for the future with our neighbors. We opened a Community Gym that allows neighbors to continue something normal in their lives, even when chaos surrounds us. We have a market to sell beverages and a small kitchen where we prepare and sell meals to go.
Our Community Center has been our home since the earthquake in August, 2021. The original construction of the Community Center was so strong that inspectors didn’t find anything wrong with it after the earthquake; the home that we were renting nearby was not safe to live in. When we build a second floor we will build it just as strong.
