One last opportunity to deliver two weeks worth of provisions to families in the community of Union Suyapa. We were met with smiles and were followed all morning by 3 very playful and mischievous little girls.

God moment:
A local family saw what we were doing and gifted US with some delicious, freshly picked bananas. These people…with so little.…felt led to give back to those who were giving. Who does that???!!! God’s people, that’s who.

Then, a much anticipated stop at El Dorao Café for some affogatos and wind-down time.

Packing up and heading home….kind of.

Plane maintenance issues cancelled our flight out of San Pedro Sula, so we had a brief delay (7 hours!) while we waited for a new plane from Miami.

Current status:
Safely in Miami for tonight (at 3am) before our LFC version of “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” starts tomorrow. 20 people taking 5 different routes home, but we are thankful to be in comfortable hotel beds and being able to flush toilet paper again…if you know, you know! 😄

In spite of all of this, our hearts remain full from an amazing week in Honduras.

Continued prayers for our safe travel please.

One delayed flight and 5 days later, a Facebook post pales in comparison to what has taken place here this week. The busyness of home, work and school have been replaced by almost constant laughter and recurrent “caught in the act of joy” moments. God has melded this team, these moments and this place together into the most amazing, long overdue reunion between Lake Forest Church-Huntersville and Children's Impact Network. Each morning devotion has challenged us to not just participate, but to look below the surface to see what He is doing in us through this trip.
As we head into what is sure to be an emotional home stretch, we are thankful for every smile, tear and drop of sweat that have combined to make this week a unique experience. We pray that God uses it to bless others through our willingness to take our best swing at being His hands and feet and we are wholeheartedly thankful for the opportunity…
