Our last day with the children and working on Steve and Debbie's home was perfect!! The day started with leaving prayers in the prayer wall which doesn't appear to be more than stone and mortar in the picture but it truly is MUCH more than that. We left the construction site able to see our labor of love with the rear wall of the home almost complete ...and we found a baby scorpion in the process!! The children had a celebration for us to thank us for loving them, helping them and taking our resources and time out of our lives to visit them. They recognize our group and they really do know we leave a piece of our heart with them every time we leave. It's so hard to explain the relationships I have with friends I can't even have a conversation with-well, not with words at least. With Ariel and I there are a lot of facial expressions, laughs, jokes and hugs and the 10 words I do know like hello, good bye, okey donkey, more, yes, no, shovel, concrete and Jesus. What else do I need to know right? It was much easier to say good bye this time because when I told him I will miss him (with a translator) he said he would miss me too but that with God (and FB) we can always be together! Megan and Stephen also said good bye to their friends with heavy hearts and for Megan a few (ok a lot of) tears (she is my child after all!!!!) We returned to Casa Lamb for dinner with the girls from the Safe House, enjoyed ice cream sundaes and then danced it off with 5 very special young ladies and their TIA. Packing to return home was easy--- just throw it in the suitcase!! Though I was sad to say good bye yesterday and will be sad to say good bye to Amanda today, I am excited to return home and prepare for Megan and Stephen to get ready for their sophomore and junior years in high school!! 🙀 It is also a very exciting time at the PSD and I have lots of work there that needs to be done. Though after this week I may need some recovery time physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally I GOT THIS!!

I can't believe today is our last full day at The Lamb and we have to say good bye to our friends at the children's home as we won't see them before we fly out tomorrow 😕 We did have a full work day yesterday at SBV so I got to work with and spend time with Aerial, Megan spends her "work" time with the team and cutting up with Raoul. She is her mothers child- when we got to the home yesterday Raoul showed Megan a picture he kept in his pocket- it was a photo of them from last year. When had forgotten all about the letter and photo she sent Raoul but when she remembered she "lost it" aka "ugly cry" because she was so happy!! Stephen was a work horse yesterday so he could knock off a little early and go play soccer with Roni aka Little Messi! Roni, who is 10, is very athletic like Stephen and they have had a great week playing together. Stephen got Roni and himself matching Messi jerseys. When Stephen gave it to him yesterday Roni immediately ripped off his shirt and put on the jersey!! How much did the jersey cost??? PRICELESS!! Angel made a heart shaped rock for Grace because she had not been feeling well earlier in the week. He also shared a very personal testimony and then sang a song for her and prayed for our team at lunch (yep, lots of tears for that!) Once we left SBV (it gets harder to leave EVERY day knowing our last day gets closer and closer) we were invited to play soccer with the girls club at the Alonzo movement! It was a long day and a late night after dinner packing the supplies we brought for pickup by staff at the Lamb tomorrow. Fortunately, many donated much needed Tylenol as well as clothes, shoes, etc! Every day at The Lamb is a great day!

Wednesday (yesterday) we were invited to attend Chapel with the kids at the school in La Flor del Campo and learn more about the Alonzo movement and the microcredit program and how it is helping improve not only the lives of the children in the community but their entire family as well! I captured several photos on our drive of the day to day life in Honduras. DOT and OSHA mean nothing here! Hondurans are extremely hard working and grateful!! They do not measure life in monetary value AT ALL!! Imagine how liberating that would be! We shopped (and purchased) at the pewter store, enjoyed a delicious traditional Honduran lunch at a "nicer" restaurant (note the guards at the gate)! We then travelled (Stephen and I took a power nap) to Valley of the Angels and did some tourist shopping and stopped at the grocery store on our way home! After another delicious dinner we shared stories during our nightly devotion. Amanda, the missionary here , talked to us about how there is so much Hope among even the poorest of poor-because of their faith and living their Earthly life in anticipation of their life in Heaven. Things like this, I, nor any pastor in the States, can truly convey to anyone, especially the kids. It is something we have experienced here meeting the people, watching the people, and building relationships with the people who live their life the way God intended us to live does. We need to learn to let it go and Believe!!

What a terrific Tuesday!! Our day started with a delicious breakfast (all of the meals are amazing!), after sitting in traffic for quite a while we arrived at SBV to continue construction on Debbie and Steve's new house (Megan and Stephen worked with Ariel and Raoul) and I was responsible for back massages during spa day for the Tias (caregivers for the children). We had some time with the kids before we returned home for a few minutes to relax before dinner (it smells delicious). Suzy is coming over to visit with us and have devotion tonight. It is such a blessing to hear her share with us all about the Lamb. ❤️

Our day began with a hearty breakfast of waffles and Papaya! We drove to the children's home to begin our work day digging the trench for the new residence for the new missionary couple, Steve and Debbie! I saw Angel and Jose Luis for the first time since last year. It was so good to talk to them again! Ariel and I worked together all day filling the trench with mezcala (mortar), rocks (grande at first then medium and small to fill in the holes) and then topped off with more mezcala! Stephen worked with a pick axe and shovel all day in the trenches (literally). He is REALLY going to be sore tomorrow. Megan is going to have a few sore muscles herself tomorrow from mixing mezcala and transporting it in the wheelbarrow. We stopped for lunch (thank the Lord!) and enjoyed listening and singing songs with Angel and then it was back to work. Once we stopped for the day we went to play with the children for a while and then visited a small town named Ojojona. We saw churches built by the Conquistadors and took in some native culture and then returned him for another DELICIOUS meal before taking showers and getting ready for bed. It was a wonderful day working, serving, laughing, sharing and living life!!

We traveled back up to SBV today to worship with our friends! The American kids led worship and Megan preached her sermon...in Spanish!! We also placed prayers in the prayer wall for concerns about a child who recently left the Lamb. After the service we hosted an ice cream social (the ice cream was only a little melted) and the kids loved ALL of the toppings! The big girls received a lesson in the proper way to apply make up (though they truly don't need it), the middle girls colored beautiful pictures to hang in their cabin, water fight for all ages, more ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ of course, and then home for dinner, devotion and prepare for our first day of work tomorrow!!

Thank you Amanda for getting all dolled up to present our award tonight!!
