"Mohamed Bzeek, often referred to as ""The Muslim Mother/Father Teresa,"" has spent over three decades selflessly caring for nearly 80 children with terminal illnesses. His dedication goes beyond typical foster care, as he provides round-the-clock attention to his terminally ill foster daughter, making sure she receives the medical care and emotional support she needs each day. Sadly, Bzeek has experienced the heartbreaking loss of 10 children under his care, some of whom passed away in his arms. Despite the profound grief, his Islamic faith has been a source of strength, helping him navigate the challenges and pain of saying goodbye. His daily prayers and connection to his mosque offer him peace and resilience during the toughest times.
In 2017, after his story garnered national attention, a GoFundMe campaign was launched in his honor, raising over $600,000 for his mission. Though he has used only a small portion of the funds, Bzeek's long-term goal is to build a welcoming, family-style home where terminally ill children can spend their last days surrounded by love and comfort, rather than isolated in cold, clinical environments. His vision is to continue providing a nurturing space for these children, ensuring they leave this world with dignity and care."
