2008年，基督教宣道會元基堂以「心繫社群」作為教會使命之一，有感於社會經濟和生活情況急速轉變，個人及家庭問題叢生，遂於2009年6月自資成立「宣道會元基家庭服務中心」，本著基督耶穌的大愛，配以專業的社會工作團隊，銳意為區內家庭提供優質的服務，祈盼和諧家庭遍社區，人人生命健康又豐盛。
