Acceptable Worship

Leviticus 10:1–3 (KJV)
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

We should never allow personal preference, emotion, tradition, or human creativity to replace God's revealed will. Worship is not defined by human creativity, but by divine command. “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” — John 4:24 (KJV) Any attempt to worship apart from His command profanes His holiness.

The Deceptive Faces of Pride

Proverbs 16:18 (KJV)
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

There is a quiet, respectable sickness sitting in our hearts—a sin we don't mind committing: pride. We dress it up as "standing our ground," "high standards," or "protecting our dignity," but God looks at the heart. That is why pride is so dangerous: because proud people never think they are proud. The people who need it the most are too proud to acknowledge that they have a problem with pride.

The Most Dangerous Person in The Church

Matthew 7:15-20 (KV)
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

In this present age, deception has never been more polished, persuasive, and dangerous. The most dangerous person in the church is not the one who openly denies Christ, but the one who pretends to honor Him while secretly undermining His Word.

The High Cost of Missing Church

Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

The cost of neglecting assembly is spiritual decline, while the blessing of gathering is stronger faith and readiness for Christ’s coming. We live in a time when distractions are louder than devotion. Screens compete with Scripture, replaces worship, and convenience often outweighs commitment.

The truth is—no one drifts closer to God in isolation. Spiritual decline begins with small compromises, and neglecting church is often the first step. The enemy often uses small decisions to produce great spiritual losses.

Ten Reasons Why Members Go Late to Church and Biblical Solutions

Psalm 122:1 (KJV)
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

Our priorities determine our punctuality. Preparation delayed became opportunity lost. Preparation is not just about saving time—it is about honoring God with order and diligence. Priorities reveal the heart. (Matthew 6:21) If our heart treasures God, punctuality will follow. God deserves first place, not leftovers. True devotion means giving Him the first moments of our day and the first place in our lives.

God of Second Chance

Jonah 3 (KJV)
1 And the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

At the beginning of Jonah in Chapter 1, the word of the Lord came to Jonah and told him to go to Nineveh because they were very evil and wicked.

God told Jonah to GO!
Jonah said NO.
Then God said WHOA!

When a Crisis Reveals Where the Heart Truly Trusts

2 Kings 1:2 (KJV)
And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.

Pressure exposes the foundation beneath our words. Crisis does not create faith or unbelief—it exposes it. The storm reveals its foundation. The fire reveals what is pure. The fall reveals where the heart truly rests.

Compassion in Action

Luke 10:30-33 (KJV)
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

God sees the heart. But there is also a reality that we must understand – man looks at outward appearance. The Lord looks at the heart. People cannot see your heart like God does but they see your actions and testimony. Faith, not only spoken, but it must also be seen.

The Misuse of Choice

Ezekiel 28:15 (KJV)
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Choice is the crown of liberty, the mark of dignity, and the test of loyalty. Yet this very gift, when misused, becomes the doorway to ruin. Choice is a double-edged sword: it can lift us into fellowship with God or cast us down into rebellion against Him. Satan’s fall was not the result of weakness in God’s design, but of arrogance in Satan’s decision. He chose pride over humility, deception over truth, rebellion over submission—and in that moment, heaven’s harmony was shattered. Freedom is not the right to rule ourselves.

A Sound Mind and Sound Doctrine

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (KJV)
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Titus 1:9 (KJV)
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

We are living in a generation where truth is no longer treasured, but traded – traded for convenience, for comfort, for compromise. Men chase myths instead of the master. Feelings instead of faith. Entertainment instead of edification. The world cries out for voices that soothe, but God calls for voices that stand.
