PRAISE!!! Update #11: 8:00pm--(Please read this in its entirety.)
After being in the ER 18 hrs and further (detailed) testings--- Lyndsy's bloodwork reached almost normal numbers and Drs were quite baffled with the sudden and sharp change! We kept on pushing for more answers though b/c we didn't understand such contrast from the previous hospital to the next.
You see--from this Mama's point of view- I literally saw our sweet Lyndsy not responding to the meds and even the transfusion as the previous Dr said she would...
Again, we saw with our own eyes her previous detailed bloodwork results and knew she was in dire condition. So the decision for the transfusion, though difficult to accept wasn't hard to say yes to.
On a level of transparency though....We were honestly discouraged that the transfusion wasn't as effective as we had expected and even visited thoughts that she was not going to make it to the next hospital while in the ambulance. Scary....yes. Faith...not much.
The previous two hospitals--as nurses tried to draw blood via the IV they had such trouble drawing even a DROP of blood from her veins that I knew something wasn't right. I got sick to the stomach as they literally had to squeeze Lyndsy's tiny arm for each drop of blood to fill 5 vials....later I was able to learn that these were indeed signs of her course to liver failure... I had never seen her so sick in the past 10 yrs of her life...
The ER Drs/specialist had us wait yet again after more probing, pricking veins, pressing the liver area on our already drained Lyndsy-- they made several calls back to the previous Dr to discuss Lyndsy's condition again in detail.
After 3 more hrs of wait-- and as 3 PAs and 1 Dr approached us all separately in sharing details of their unbelief in Lyndsy's amazing improvement- my eyes met Brandon's and we both immediately teared up (VERY LARGE TEARS, btw) and knew exactly WHY the sudden onset of improvement of Lyndsy's liver condition.
Three more mtgs amongst the (4) Drs and after 2 more testings at SNUH they reached the conclusion that she was ready to head..... HOME! Whaaaaaaa????!!!!!
(Oh and they filled 3 more vials of blood with so much ease today!!)
Just like that....after almost 72 hrs from the onset of a mild fever to 104F , lethargy, vomiting, 6+ bloodwork tests, ultrasounds, to a blood transfusion, and talks of a liver transplant, 18 hrs at the ER and millions of PRAYERS storming the gates of Heaven.... our sweet Lyndsy is home...!!!!
She is scheduled for another set of intense testings on the liver and kidneys a week from today, however, and so we will keep y'all posted this week on how she recovers. She is still holding onto a low grade fever and not herself 100% --so the next two nights will be crucial as we monitor her progress.
Brandon doesn't have an FB account himself so as we were both scrolling down through ALL the prayers being lifted up to the Lord from friends literally ALL over the world....we were washed over with such thankfulness.... we stopped...and just wept and wept and wept and wept. ....We were reminded of the following verses in Mark 5:41-42:
" And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. "
