Ephesians 4:1 — Living Worthy of the Calling

• Theme: Unity and humility in the Christian walk.
• Main Points:
Live a life worthy of God’s calling. • Practice humility, gentleness, patience, and love. • Strive for unity in the Spirit and peace within the community.

Paul reminds believers that following Christ is not just about belief, but about lifestyle. To live “worthy of the calling” means letting our actions reflect the grace we’ve received. Humility, gentleness, patience, and love are not optional—they are the marks of a true disciple. When practiced, these virtues build unity in the Spirit and peace in the community. In essence, Paul is saying: your life is the testimony of your faith, so let it shine through relationships and daily conduct.

Ephesians 5:1–25 — Imitating God and Walking in Love

Verses 1–2

• Theme: Imitating God through love.
• Main Points:
Be imitators of God as His children. • Walk in love, following Christ’s sacrificial example.

Here Paul calls us to imitate God as His beloved children. Just as children naturally mirror their parents, believers are to mirror their heavenly Father. The way we do this is by walking in love—sacrificial, selfless love modeled by Christ, who gave Himself up for us. This passage encourages us to see love not as a feeling but as an action, a daily choice to serve, forgive, and uplift others.

Verses 3–14

• Theme: Purity and light.
• Main Points:
Avoid immorality, greed, and corrupt speech. • Live as children of light, exposing darkness. • Christ’s light awakens and transforms believers.

Paul contrasts the darkness of immorality, greed, and corrupt speech with the brightness of living as children of light. Believers are called to reject behaviors that dishonor God and instead expose darkness by living truthfully and purely. Christ’s light awakens us from spiritual sleep, transforming us into people who radiate hope and holiness. This section is a reminder that our lives should shine so brightly that others are drawn out of darkness into God’s light.

Verses 15–21

• Theme: Wisdom and Spirit-filled living.
• Main Points:
Live wisely, making the most of time. • Be filled with the Spirit, not with excess. • Encourage one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. • Give thanks and submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Paul urges believers to live wisely, making the most of every opportunity because time is precious. Instead of being controlled by excess or worldly distractions, we are to be filled with the Spirit. Spirit-filled living is expressed in joyful worship, gratitude, and mutual submission—placing others before ourselves out of reverence for Christ. This passage shows that wisdom is not just knowledge, but Spirit-led choices that glorify God and strengthen community.

Text: Ephesians 3:13-21
Paul’s prayer in this passage is a beautiful invitation to live deeply rooted in the love of Christ. He begins by urging believers not to lose heart over his sufferings, reminding us that trials can serve a greater purpose in God’s plan.

Then, Paul kneels in reverence and prays for something extraordinary—not for material blessings or worldly success, but for **inner strength, spiritual depth, and a profound experience of God’s love.

💬 Key Themes:
- Spiritual Strength:
Paul asks that we be strengthened in our inner being by the Holy Spirit. This isn’t about physical might—it’s about resilience, peace, and courage that come from within.

- Christ Dwelling in Us:
He prays that Christ would make His home in our hearts. Not just a visit, but a permanent residence.

- Love Beyond Measure:
Paul wants us to grasp the vastness of Christ’s love—wider than our failures, longer than our journey, higher than our hopes, and deeper than our pain.

- Fullness of God:
To be filled with all the fullness of God means living in alignment with His character, purpose, and presence.

We’re reminded that true strength comes from within—through the Spirit—and that Christ’s love is deeper and wider than we can ever fully grasp. Let this message stir our hearts to seek spiritual depth, to be rooted in love, and to trust that God can do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. May we walk away not just inspired, but transformed.

Sunday 6-22-25

1 Corinthians 3:13-15
13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

🌟 Encouragement:
You are a builder in God’s great project. That means your life, your choices, your service—they all matter. If you build with faith, love, and truth (the “gold, silver, and precious stones”), your work will stand the test of time. God sees and values every sincere effort you make.

⚠️ Warning:
Not everything we do will last. If we build with shallow motives or selfish ambition (the “wood, hay, and straw”), it may look impressive now, but it won’t survive the fire of God’s judgment. This isn’t about losing salvation—it’s about losing the reward of a life well-lived for Christ.

💬 The Message:
Live intentionally. Build wisely. Don’t just go through the motions—invest in what’s eternal. And remember, the foundation is already laid: Jesus Christ. Everything else must align with Him.

It’s a sobering reminder, but also a hopeful one: you have the chance, every day, to build something that lasts forever.

Rahab’s story is a powerful testimony to the transformative nature of faith, courage, and God’s grace. Despite her background, she chose to trust in God and took bold action to protect the Israelite spies, demonstrating that true faith is not passive but requires commitment and bravery. Her inclusion in the lineage of Jesus serves as a reminder that God welcomes all who turn to Him, regardless of their past. Through Rahab, we learn that God does not judge us by where we come from but by the faith we put in Him, showing that redemption is always possible. Her scarlet cord became a symbol of salvation, much like the blood of Christ, emphasizing that God’s mercy is extended to all. Most importantly, Rahab teaches us to trust in God even when circumstances seem uncertain, knowing that He rewards those who seek Him with a sincere heart. Her life encourages us to take steps of faith, live boldly for God, and embrace the truth that His love and plan include even the most unlikely people.

Matthew 24:42 says, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."
The message from this verse is clear and profound: it calls believers to remain spiritually vigilant and prepared at all times. Life can be unpredictable, and the timing of God's plans, including the return of Jesus, is beyond human comprehension. This verse encourages us to live each day with intention and readiness, staying rooted in faith and fulfilling our responsibilities with a sense of purpose.

It's a reminder to stay focused on what truly matters-our relationship with God, our actions, and our faith-rather than being distracted by worldly concerns. By living in such readiness, we honor God and demonstrate trust in His divine timing.

_"True devotion is not about being seen by others, but about being seen by God. When you fast or engage in any act of faith, let it be an offering of the heart—pure, humble, and unpretentious. The world may not notice your quiet acts of dedication, but your Heavenly Father, who sees all that is done in secret, will recognize your sincerity and reward your faith. Walk confidently in your journey of faith, knowing that God cherishes the motives of your heart more than the approval of the crowd."_
