一九八八年一月，一群關懷香港前途與教會更新的基督徒女性成立了香港婦女基督徒協會，旨在團結教會內姊妹弟兄，從女性角度出發，反省信仰對現代人的意義，並聯結婦女及人權團體，爭取本地婦女權益、推動社會公義，並與被邊緣者同行。
The Hong Kong Women Christian Council (HKWCC) was established in 1988 in response to the World Council of Churches' (WCC) Ecumenical Decade of Churches in Solidarity with Women (1988-1998). For the last fifteen years, we have gathered women and men within the Church to fight for social justice and women's rights, to develop and promote feminist theology and to stand together with the marginalized community.
