Unworthy or scared ?
Do you know how many times that God calls you worthy of everything he has to offer you ?
Worthy is used 77 times in the Amplified Bible . (Fun fact )
And I’m positive there are many other words used to combat with how worthy you are of his love , guidance , and grace .
Many times we don’t think we are worthy of the gifts of the fruits that we can receive from obedience or we keep our self’s from receiving them because we deem our self unworthy.
Now call me biased but one of the best worship songs “Worthy Is The Lamb” by Hillsong Worship is one of the many ways to express all that you’re fixing to digest in our little bit of time together. The song goes a little like this …
Thank you for the cross, Lord
Thank you for the price You paid
Bearing all my sin and shame
In love You came
And gave amazing grace
Thank you for this love, Lord
Thank you for the nail pierced hands
Washed me in Your cleansing flow
Now all I know
Your forgiveness and embrace
Stating , he was pinned and crucified for US, to wash US clean .
We are cleansed ,you are worthy of everything to the Lord has to offer. It’s there you just have to want it because he will forgive sin and embrace you .
Which we know to be true thru scripture
“For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.”
Psalms 25:11 NIV
“Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.””
Luke 7:48 NIV
“Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.””
Luke 7:50 NIV
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9 NIV
Now that we know your sins are forgiven , and he confirms us worthy . Are you unworthy or just scared ? Often in modern terms “ we are our own worst critics” Instead of seeing the beauty we see everything except the beauty . Which can cause use to under value and or have conflict within ourselves or others .
The Topical Encyclopedia states “the concept of” worthy “ in the Bible encompasses notations of value , honor, and deservingness, often in relation to God , Christ , and human conduct. The term is used to describe both the inherent worthiness of God and Christ and the expected worthiness of believers in their conduct and faith .
Revelations 4:11 states
“Worthy are You , our Lord and God , to receive glory and honor and power for You created all things , and by Your will they exist and came to be “
-This tells us He created us , By his will we belong here , By His doing and his worthiness for us WE are in fact worthy of all things . Even if we can’t see it in our self’s we in fact are with out a doubt WORTHY.
Jeremiah 31:3
“You are worthy”
Psalms 107:1 & Psalms 118:1
“Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good ; his love endures forever “
Ephesians 3:20
I will give you more than you asked for , you have to trust me and be patient .
Sometimes in the mix of being our own judge and jury , I believe that giving ourselves grace can ultimately be one of the greatest gifts to ourselves. When you realize that there isn’t a single soul who is perfect ….. you begin to see at the end of the day everyone is uniquely the same ultimately. In a lecture I heard by Dr A.J.Swoboda he stated “Jesus came out of the tomb with scars “ meaning he wasn’t perfect he wears his scars proudly and that is reminder not me that your past isn’t what makes you .. its who you are willing and wanting to be . Damaged goods still have value .
His nail pierced prove you were worth it to him .
Unworthiness and Grace {bible hub} says :
While the Bible calls believers to live worthy lives, it also acknowledges human unworthiness apart from God's grace. Romans 3:23 reminds us, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Despite this inherent unworthiness, God's grace through faith in Christ makes believers worthy. Ephesians 2:8-9 affirms, "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast."
A biblical concept of worthiness is deeply intertwined with divine grace, calling believers to a life that reflects God's glory while recognizing their dependence on His mercy and love.
Which brings me to these to close with
There isn’t a soul in the world who is unworthy .
If we were to and stand next to each other in the the same shirt and pants ,
The person on each side of you is just alike .
A persons past decisions ,struggles, way of life , or anything of alike define His love for you .
He does not call on you when you are perfect he calls you as you are even when we may be waving that red flag . Most of the times for new followers it takes being in a deep dark place to find that “light” . To find that why ? Often followed with why am i being called I’m “not worthy” when you ARE , and your exactly where he wants you , as you are with arms wide open willing to learn and be who he’s called you to be .
There is never a “right” time but always an as you are time , it all just depends on YOU. You aren’t unworthy you’re just scared .
Psalm 28:7
If it wasn’t for the struggles, you wouldn’t be as strong as you are today . God is always building you up , even when it feels
Like he is breaking you .
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Exodus 14:14 NIV
“What , then , shall we say in response to these things ? If God is for us , who can be against us ?”
Romans 8:31 NIV
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:34
