Dippa K***a Central Mosque Construction Project Implementation Status:
First of all we want to commend President Barrow for his timely intervention and magnanimous gesture in donating D10, 000, 000 for the completion of the Central Mosque Construction project.
That being said, we once again want to take this opportunity to thank and honor the very significant role played by our ESTEEMED DONORS both in the Diaspora and Gambia.
Their total cash contribution of approx. D12, 000, 000 along with providing building materials have had a very positive impact on the development and implementation of the mosque project for the past 3 years (2022 to-date) .
It is important to note that the funding from these donors in no small measure helped sustained the โnon-stopโ construction work (phase 2 ) to where we are today.
CONSTRUCTION WORK UPDATE: Twin Minarets
Minaret # 1 has reached level 4 and a mini Dome atop is in the making.
Minaret # 2 is on level 4 pending concrete work and mini dome construction.
The twin minarets are 16 meters high from the roof slab.
The Central DOME is scheduled to start soon with welding operations..
As we move to the next chapter of the project with additional funding from the President, we will continue to execute the project implementation to the fullest.
Per the BILL OF QUANTITIES of the project, the total cost of building the Main Mosque building of Dippa K***a Central Mosque is
D29, 625,897.72.
Of this amount, Dippa K***a Mosque Committee and co-partner Dippa K***a Diaspora Chapter have executed the construction work to the tune of D11. 500, 000 from our esteemed donors. Individual cash donated amount range from over
D1, 000, 000 down to D1000.
Over the past 2 years, we made significant progress on the main mosque building with 35 % of construction work done. These included demolitions, foundation building, concrete structure, sub and superstructure, blockwork and roof with steady supply of trips of sand from Alhaji Mamina Jaiteh, Moise Darboe for providing heavy machinery and equipment and the community at large.
Now, with additional funding from the President and our esteemed donors, weโll continue to finish the Central DOME and the smaller ones on top of the minarets, tiles and pavement, wall cladding, ceiling, interior decorations, installation of interior doors and windows, aluminum & metal carpentry; and utilities infrastructure, sewer, drainage, water supply, lighting system, ventilation & Air Conditioning, Telecommunications (voice & data/wifi) network, Fire detection & extinguishing and solar energy installation etc.
Last but not the least, a very big thank you to DIPPA K***a Central Mosque Committee and DIPPA K***a Diaspora Organization, Technical/construction team and the community at large for their unwavering support of the Mosque project.
Finally, the tentative or rstimated time of completion of the main mosque building is October 2026 inshallah
