TRIBUTE TO FR BRUNO TOUPAN
Tribute from the Beacon of Hope Youths to our Dearest Youth Chaplain, a rear gem, a true Beacon of Hope that lighten the lives of others far and wide most especially the ones he came across. Fr Bruno Toupan as a true Beacon of Hope was a ray of light that does not only shine bright to brighten the lives of others but brings hope to the hopeless.
Beacon of Hope youths crossed paths with Fr Bruno Toupan in 2017 when the group was still in its formation stage. As a group of young men within the Diocese of Banjul, we gathered together to form Beacon of Hope to do our quota in the development of the Diocese of Banjul. It was during this formation period that we deem it fit to have a youth Chaplain to guide us both in our development agenda as well as helping us strengthen our spiritual lives and there came in Rev. Fr Bruno Toupan who welcomed the idea and accepted to be the Youth Chaplain of Beacon of Hope Youths.
Rev Fr. Bruno Toupan was more than a Priest and a youth Chaplain to the Beacon of Hope Youths, He was a true friend, a teacher, a mentor, a selfless individual until the very end when the Almighty God, the creator of Heaven and Earth called him to be with him in his Heavenly kingdom.
During Rev. Fr. Bruno Toupan’s lifetime as the Youth Chaplain of Beacon of Hope he was a source of encouragement especially in executing the pillars that led to the formation of the Beacon of Hope Youths which is giving back to our communities through the back to School book bag project now called chance for educational advancement. This is a project we as Beacons embark on yearly to outline schools within the rural Gambia to help the less privilege school going children with their educational needs such as book bags, stationeries, uniforms and other school materials. This was also one of the projects that Fr Bruno Toupan will not hesitate to put in his resources just to see those lovely smiles on the faces of those lovely innocent school going children. That was Rev. Fr Bruno Toupan a true Beacon.
Fr Bruno Toupan was a teacher and a mentor to all members of the Beacon of Hope, he was a true believer in the mission and vision of Beacon of Hope, Fr. Bruno not only concern about achieving the mission of Beacon of Hope in the social and religious aspects but was also interested in the development of all its members especially in our individual career paths and spiritual lives.
As a Youth Chaplain and a spiritual Father, Rev. Fr Bruno Toupan believes in being steadfast in our faith, knowing our faith and being well grounded in our faith. Fr Bruno will always ensure that all Beacons gather for monthly prayers.
During his time as the parish priest Holy Spirit Parish, Fr. Bruno Toupan ensured that we joined the yearly Lenten retreat and prayers of Holy Spirit Parish and this tradition still continues he also ensured that we actively participate in the activities of the Holy Spirit Parish. It is save to say that Fr. Bruno made Holy Spirit Parish the Parish of Beacon of Hope. This was Rev Fr Bruno Toupan to us, a true believer in his faith. Rev. Rev. Fr Bruno Toupan your boys miss you, it’s still a shock and hard to believe that you have gone till eternity and no more with jam.
Fr Bruno, Your boys are already missing those lovely social moments we had together, you inviting us to your Parlour to come watch football matches with you, serving us with lovely food and drinks. We ate on the same table as a True Family, wine and dined with you. Watch football, celebrated the wins, laughed and laughed together.

Fr. Bruno Toupan we are grateful for all you have done for us, especially being a true Beacon of light that shines bright and true.
It is with heavy heart that we conclude by praying for eternal rest be granted upon your soul and the perpetual Light of Christ continue to shine upon your Beautiful and Lovely Soul.
