In Matthew 7:22, Jesus (peace be upon him) says entry to the kingdom of heaven belongs not to everyone who calls him "Lord," but to "he who does the will of my Father." In John 5:30, he says plainly: "I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me." The foundation of his message was submission, which in Arabic is the literal meaning of the word Islam.

In the continuation of the sermon on shirk, Part 2 emphasizes how having the kalimah tu shahada sincerely in one's heart, free from any iota of shirk, can get one into paradise irrespective of his/her sins.

Here are some key points.

* Visiting a soothsayer, or "boka mallam," nullifies one's prayers for 40 days and takes a person out of the fold of Islam if he believes in what he was instructed to do

* Soothsayers, or "boka mallams," can neither harm nor benefit us; hence, none should fear them.

* Human beings can be forms of lesser gods, like our leaders, e.g the Imaams, chairmen, elders, bosses, politicians, etc., if we obey them in what is contrary to the deen, thus indirectly serving them their haram interests.

* Similarly, bowing to leaders or elders when greeting them is a form of shirk, although some cultures regard people who do not do so as disrespectful.

* The Prophet (PBUH) rejected any form of act equivalent to being worshipped by the companions, like the way the Christians bowed to the priests—so our leaders must also decline from receiving these kinds of greetings.

It was narrated that:Abdullah bin Abu Awfa said “When Muadh bin Jabal came from Sham, he prostrated to the Prophet who said: 'What is this, O Muadh?' He said: 'I went to Sham and saw them prostrating to their bishops and patricians and I wanted to do that for you.' The messenger of Allah said: 'Do not do that. If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone other than Allah, I would have commanded women to prostrate to their husbands. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! No woman can fulfill her duty towards Allah until she fulfills her duty towards her husband. If he asks her (for intimacy) even if she is on her camel saddle, she should not refuse.' ” ~ (Sunan Ibn Majah 1853)

Congratulations to Professor Bashir Aliyu Umar, OON
On his appointment as Chairman of the Non-Interest Banking Council.

Professor Bashir Aliyu Umar has been appointed Chairman of the Ghana Non-Interest Banking Council, following the inauguration of the Council as part of efforts to strengthen the governance and supervisory framework for non-interest banking in Ghana.

Professor Bashir will lead the Council alongside Dr Yussuf Adany Al-Badani, Dr George Baah-Danquah, Adishetu Hamidu Naabo and Samuel Gameli Gadzo, who will serve as members.

Associating partners with Allah is the gravest sin against Him. This does not come only in the form of literally pouring libations onto a stone 🪨, but also in following and obeying human figures in whatever they order into disobeying Allah, to whom belongs all power and authority.

This sermon delivered by Imam Abdul Latif is an awakening call to all, in readiness towards the day of judgment.

* Allah forgives all sins except for shirk.

* Allah is our protector even before birth and through childhood.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:

يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوْهُهُمْ فِى النَّا رِ يَقُوْلُوْنَ يٰلَيْتَـنَاۤ اَطَعْنَا اللّٰهَ وَاَ طَعْنَا الرَّسُوْلَاۡ
The Day their faces will be turned about in the Fire, they will say, "How we wish we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger."

وَقَا لُوْا رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّاۤ اَطَعْنَا سَا دَتَنَا وَكُبَرَآءَنَا فَاَ ضَلُّوْنَا السَّبِيْلَاۡ
And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way.

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَذَا بِ وَا لْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِيْرًا
Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse."

يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَقُوْلُوْا قَوْلًا سَدِيْدًا
"O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice."

(Qu'ran 33:66-70)
