In this sermon, Mallam Suleman Iddrissu talks about Taqwa as the provision we need on our journey towards Allah.
Here are some highlights:
* Taqwa is to save oneself from the Hellfire and prevent oneself from disobeying Allah.
* It's the foundation and the provision for our journey to Allah, like how we arranged our material belongings and transport fare for our worldly travels 🧳.
* The grave is the first point of this journey, the first point of interaction with the hereafter until the judgement.
* We must always be ready for this journey, unlike our worldly travels, as we don't know when it will start.
* None is superior to the other on the basis of tribe, wealth, children, etc., except by Taqwa – God consciousness.
* Fear Allah both in public and private.
* Avoid some acts that will nullify our taqwa and render us bankrupt on the day of judgement, such as backbiting, cheating, etc.
* Maintaining ties of kinship and being good to our families
*We can build and maintain our taqwa by observing the five daily prayers and seeking knowledge.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says:
يٰۤاَ يُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْۤا اِذَا تَنَا جَيْتُمْ فَلَا تَـتَـنَا جَوْا بِا لْاِ ثْمِ وَا لْعُدْوَا نِ وَمَعْصِيَتِ الرَّسُوْلِ وَتَنَا جَوْا بِا لْبِرِّ وَا لتَّقْوٰى ۗ وَا تَّقُوا اللّٰهَ الَّذِيْۤ اِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ
"O you who have believed, when you converse privately, do not converse about sin and aggression and disobedience to the Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And fear Allah, to whom you will be gathered." ~(Quran 58:9)
