In the Red Sea is a small flounder fish called a Moses sole, as well as large sharks. These sharks typically prey on small fish. However, researchers noticed something fascinating about this little flounder. While all the other small fish of the same size and weight would be eaten by the sharks, the sharks weren’t eating this Moses sole. They discovered the Moses sole has a unique defense system. When it’s in any kind of danger, it secretes poisonous toxins from its glands. These toxins cause the shark’s jaw to freeze, and they can’t bite or swallow the fish.
Like this small fish, as a child of God, God has put something on you that will keep the enemy from biting and devouring you. What you’re up against may seem big and powerful. Don’t worry; it can’t touch you. God is protecting you. He has given you a way to release power that causes the enemy’s jaws to freeze—by praising and thanking Him. Every time you say, “Lord, thank You that You’re my shield. Thank You that You’re my defender. Thank You that You’re the Guardian of my soul,” that power is released. Faith-filled thanksgiving is toxic to your enemies and paralyzes them.
Negative talk is like shark bait that attracts the enemy. The way you activate God’s protection is with praise and faith-filled words. Think about the little Moses sole. When it’s in the shark’s mouth, it doesn’t get depressed and think, This is the end. It just goes about its business, knowing there’s something special about it. It just rests in who God made it to be.
The Most-High God is the guardian of your soul. He’s put something on you that makes you untouchable to the enemy. Live in a place of peace, a place of faith, knowing that God is watching and guarding you. If you’ll do this, God will rescue you from every trap, protect you from every plague, and make you invisible to the enemy.
