Coat Is Stripped Before Joseph Can Be Promoted
Genesis 37:23“They stripped Joseph of his robe, the robe of many colors that was on him.”
This moment is one of the most painful and necessary moments in Joseph’s story. The stripping of the coat was not an accident of betrayal. It was a divine transition. God was not removing Joseph’s calling. He was removing the form in which that calling had first been revealed. The coat marked destiny, but it could not carry Joseph into destiny. It announced who he was becoming, but it could not form him into who he needed to be.
God was moving Joseph from external identity into internal formation, from prophetic promise into character process, and from giftedness into governance. The coat spoke of his future, but the pit and the prison were the tools that prepared him for it. The coat revealed him. The pit humbled him. The prison refined him. The palace required what the pit and prison produced.
Joseph could not rule Egypt wearing a coat from Canaan. He could not govern a nation while still carrying the symbols of his old environment, his old affirmation, and his old identity. What was right for the father’s house was not right for Pharaoh’s court. So the coat had to come off. Not because it was wrong, but because it was seasonal.
This reveals a hard but beautiful truth about how God works in our lives. God will often remove the sign of your calling in order to mature the substance of your calling. He will take away what once validated you so that you learn to live from what He is forming within you. He will remove what identified you so that you are no longer sustained by external affirmation but by internal alignment.
This is why seasons of stripping feel confusing. Something that once felt God given seems to disappear. Something that once affirmed you no longer functions the same way. Something that once defined you is no longer present. It feels like loss, but it is actually transition. It feels like demotion, but it is preparation for promotion. God is not destroying what He started. He is deepening it.
God is far more committed to who you are becoming than to what you are doing right now. He is not primarily building a platform. He is building a person. And people collapse under the weight of authority when character is not strong enough to carry it. So God builds the core before He releases the crown. He forms the inner life before He entrusts the outer influence.
Joseph lost the coat, but he gained authority. He lost the garment, but he gained governance. He lost the visible sign of favor, but he gained the capacity to steward favor at a national level. What was stripped from him was not his future. It was the form his future first appeared in.
So if you are in a season where something that once defined you has been removed, do not assume you are being set back. You may be being set up. God often removes what no longer fits because He is preparing you for what does. He strips what cannot go with you into the next season so that what remains is strong enough to sustain you there.
You cannot take Canaan into Egypt. You cannot lead at a new level with an old identity. You cannot govern a new realm with yesterday’s formation. So let God do His work. Let Him remove what no longer serves the future He has for you. Let Him deepen what will carry weight.
Because when God is done, you will not just look called. You will be able to carry it.
And that is promotion......

Topic: I'm on a Journey. When We Arrive, We Won't See Dust but Glasses
2 Corinthians 5:1-8, For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed with it, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

Today let me make this difficult and simple for you to reading this. I want to talk to you about a journey that we are all on. It's a journey that takes us through the ups and downs of life, through the joys and the sorrows, through the triumphs and the struggles. It's a journey that ultimately leads us to our eternal home in heaven, where we will be with God forever.
As we travel on this journey, we often find ourselves facing challenges and obstacles that can be overwhelming. We may feel like we're walking through a desert, with no end in sight, and no relief from the heat and the dust. But I want you to know that this journey is not in vain. It's a journey that is leading us to a place of beauty and wonder, a place where we will see glasses instead of dust.
The journey of life is a journey of faith. It's a journey that requires us to trust in God, even when we can't see what's ahead. It's a journey that requires us to have confidence in God's plan, even when things don't make sense. It's a journey that requires us to persevere, even when the road gets rough.
In 2 Corinthians 5, the apostle Paul talks about the journey of life as a journey of groaning and longing. He says that we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling. He's talking about the fact that our bodies are temporary, and that we will one day be clothed with a heavenly body that will never die.
The promise of heaven is a promise of hope and joy. It's a promise that one day, we will be free from the struggles and the sorrows of this life. It's a promise that one day, we will be with God, face to face, and that we will see His glory and beauty.
In Revelation 21, we read about the new heaven and the new earth, where God will dwell with us forever. We read about the fact that there will be no more tears, no more pain, and no more suffering. We read about the fact that we will see God, and that we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is.
When we arrive in heaven, we won't see dust but glasses. We won't see the struggles and the sorrows of this life, but we will see the beauty and the wonder of God's creation. We will see the glasses of heaven, which are the windows of God's glory and beauty.
In 1 Corinthians 13, the apostle Paul talks about the fact that we see through a glass darkly, but that one day, we will see face to face. He's talking about the fact that our understanding of God is limited, but that one day, we will see Him as He is.
I want to leave you with a sense of hope and joy. I want to remind you that we are on a journey, a journey that is leading us to our eternal home in heaven. I want to remind you that this journey is not in vain, but that it's a journey that is leading us to a place of beauty and wonder.
When we arrive in heaven, we won't see dust but glasses. We will see the beauty and the wonder of God's creation, and we will be with Him forever. So let's keep our eyes fixed on the prize, let's keep our hearts focused on God, and let's keep our spirits lifted with the promise of heaven.
Stay blessed 🙏🙏🙏

The Act of Worship and Service to God: A Life of Surrender and Obedience
December 27th 2024
Romans 12:1-2, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Today, we're going to explore one of the most fundamental aspects of our Christian faith the act of worship and service to God. As believers, we're called to live a life of surrender and obedience to God, offering our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him.
Worship is often misunderstood as merely singing hymns or attending church services. However, true worship goes far beyond these external actions. Worship is a lifestyle, a posture of the heart, and a commitment to surrender our lives to God.

In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word for worship, "Shachah", means to bow down or to prostrate oneself. This implies a posture of humility, surrender, and reverence before God.
The Act of Worship
In Romans 12:1-2, the apostle Paul urges us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is our true and proper worship. Notice that Paul doesn't say, Offer your voices, your songs, or your attendance at church." No, he says, Offer your bodies.
This means that every aspect of our lives our thoughts, words, actions, and relationships should be surrendered to God as an act of worship. We're called to be living sacrifices, set apart for God's purposes, and living in a way that's pleasing to Him.

So, what does true worship look like?
1. Surrender. True worship involves surrendering our lives to God, letting go of our own agendas and desires.
2. Humility. Worship is a posture of humility, recognizing our own limitations and weaknesses, and acknowledging God's greatness and majesty.
3. Reverence. True worship involves reverence, a deep respect and awe for God's holiness and power.
4. Obedience. Worship is not just a feeling or an emotion; it's a commitment to obey God's commands and live according to His will.
5. Sacrifice. True worship involves sacrifice, giving up our own desires and interests for the sake of God's kingdom.

When we worship God in spirit and truth, we experience numerous benefits, including:
1. Intimacy with God. True worship deepens our intimacy with God, drawing us closer to His heart and will.
2. Transformation. Worship transforms us, renewing our minds and hearts, and empowering us to live a life that's pleasing to God.
3. Purpose and Meaning. Worship gives us purpose and meaning, helping us to understand our role in God's kingdom and our responsibility to serve Him.
4. Joy and Fulfillment. True worship fills us with joy and fulfillment, as we experience the presence and power of God in our lives.

True worship is not without its challenges. We face numerous obstacles, including:
1. The World's Influence. The world around us can distract us from worship, tempting us to conform to its patterns and values.
2. Our Own Sinfulness. Our own sinfulness and selfishness can hinder our worship, causing us to focus on ourselves rather than God.
3. Fear and Doubt. Fear and doubt can also undermine our worship, causing us to question God's goodness and faithfulness.

Lastly, The act of worship and service to God is a lifelong journey, not a destination. It's a commitment to surrender our lives to God, to live in obedience to His will, and to worship Him in spirit and truth.
I urge you to examine your own life and worship. Are you offering your body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God? Are you surrendering your thoughts, words, and actions to Him?

Let us renew our commitment to worship and serve God, living a life that's pleasing to Him, and experiencing the joy, fulfillment, and transformation that come from true worship.

May God bless and empower us to worship Him in spirit and truth. Amen.

Never Create Your Own Enemy
Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you're facing opposition or conflict with someone? Maybe it's a coworker, a family member, or even a stranger. Our natural instinct might be to defend ourselves, to fight back, or to create distance between us and the person we perceive as our enemy.
But today, I want to challenge you with a different perspective. What if I told you that sometimes, we create our own enemies? What if our actions, our words, or our attitudes are the very things that provoke others to become our adversaries?

The Danger of Creating Our Own Enemies
In the book of Proverbs, it says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7). Our thoughts, our words, and our actions have consequences. When we choose to harbor bitterness, resentment, or anger towards someone, we can create a self-fulfilling prophecy. We can actually provoke others to become our enemies.
For example, if we're constantly critical or condescending towards someone, they may begin to feel defensive or hurt. They may start to see us as their enemy, and the conflict escalates
But as Christians, we're called to a higher standard. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This doesn't mean we have to agree with them or condone their behavior. It means we choose to respond in a way that's counterintuitive to our natural instincts.
We choose to respond with love, compassion, and kindness. We pray for our enemies, not because they deserve it, but because we deserve to experience the transformative power of God's love in our lives.

So, how can we apply this principle in our daily lives? Here are a few practical suggestions:
1. Take responsibility for your actions. Recognize how your words, actions, or attitudes may be contributing to the conflict.
2. Choose to respond, not react: Take a step back, breathe, and respond in a way that's thoughtful and intentional.
3. Practice empathy and understanding. Try to see things from the other person's perspective.
4. Pray for your enemies: Yes, you read that right. Pray for those who may be opposing you.

Dear friends, never create your own enemy. Instead, choose to respond in a way that's guided by love, compassion, and kindness. Remember, our enemies are not our opponents, but our neighbors, our coworkers, and our fellow human beings.
As we close, I want to leave you with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
May we choose to be the light in the darkness, and may we respond to our enemies with the love and kindness of Christ. Amen.

The LORD said to Samuel, ‘How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel?’” (...
02/10/2024

The LORD said to Samuel, ‘How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel?’” (1 Samuel 16:1, ESV). Studying the life of David in 1-2 Samuel this year. But before King David, there was King Saul, the first king of Israel. He was a failed king, more concerned with his kingdom than God’s, so God rejected him and his line from sitting on the throne. God would have established his throne forever, but instead went looking for a man after His own heart (1 Samuel 13:14-14). That God-hearted man was David, but at the point of the quote above, Saul was still on the throne. He would be for another fifteen years or so, but God was ready to move on. He asked Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul?”

There are times when God has moved on, and so must we. We should not conclude that God is insensitive, for the life of Christ disabuses us of that notion. He is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). He shows us what God is like, how God feels, what the Father thinks (Hebrews 1:1-3). And what Jesus reveals is a God who is heartbroken and sorrowful over the brokenness of humanity. So, here with Samuel and Saul, we should not think of God as a cold and unconcerned deity. No, He is more heartbroken over Saul than Samuel could ever be, but still, He has moved on to the next part of His redemptive plan. He was not going to stay stuck on Saul and neither should Samuel.

Again, there are times we must move on because God has. God has made all of us uniquely, and everyone has events in life that press their buttons, but sometimes we are far too sensitive. We allow some hurt or failure or brokenness to define us. In those moments, we are in danger of sitting at a crossroads of life, unwilling to progress, staring at the road in front of us. Let’s move on, God says, but we are often unwilling. Samuel was crushed that it hadn’t worked out with Saul, but it hadn’t, and that was that. Time to go. David was in store. God had a new plan A.

I know I’ve gotten stuck in the past plenty of times. I’ve wondered how such and such could happen, or how so and so could have done what they did (myself included). I’ve had those moments of paralysis where I’ve become unable to enjoy God’s new plan A. I haven’t moved on. But when God has, we must. What about you? Have you ever found yourself stuck when God isn’t? He has forgiven, or redeemed, or is using the brokenness or hurt for something good in you because that’s how He rolls (Romans 8:28). This is not always easy. Sometimes it takes a lifetime. But we must allow Him. Like Samuel when he packed his bags and went to anoint David, let’s move on if God has, joining Him for His new plan A.

The Trials of Hope

Romans 5:3-5, Hebrews 11:1, 1 Peter 1:3-9
Hope is a powerful force that sustains us through life's challenges. But what happens when hope is tested? When the trials come, and our faith is shaken, what do we do?
I. The Purpose of Trials (Romans 5:3-5)
Trials produce endurance
Endurance builds character
Character strengthens hope
II. The Definition of Hope (Hebrews 11:1)
Hope is the confident assurance of things hoped for
Hope is the conviction of things not seen
III. The Testing of Hope (1 Peter 1:3-9)
Trials refine and purify our hope
Trials prove the genuineness of our faith
Trials lead to praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed

Hope is not a feeling but a choice. When trials come, we can choose to let go of hope or hold on to it. May we learn to trust in God's sovereignty, goodness, and love, even in the midst of trials. May our hope be refined, purified, and strengthened, leading us to praise and glorify our Lord Jesus Christ.

"David and Abishai went to the army by night, and there was Saul, lying asleep inside the camp with his spear stuck in the ground near his head. Abner and the soldiers were lying around him. Abishai said to David, 'Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of my spear; I won't strike him twice.' But David said to Abishai, 'Don't destroy him!...'" 1Sam.26:7-9
Never be incited or influenced to act against your positive principles in life. Even if you have the opportunity or power to hurt those who hate you, hold yourself up and allow God. He can handle them better. No matter your pain, never pay back. God bless you for your patience. Shalom.

The Joy of Worship: A Response to God's Love
Psalm 95:1-7, John 4:23-24
Worship is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with God. It's the act of expressing our love, gratitude, and adoration to Him. But what does it mean to truly worship God?
Wprship is not just a duty or an obligation, but a privilege and a joy. In Psalm 95:6, we read, Come, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Worship is a response to God's love and majesty. When we worship, we acknowledge that God is God, and we are not. We recognize His power, wisdom, and sovereignty over all creation.
Worship has several purposes. First, it brings us closer to God. When we worship, we focus on Him and His attributes, and He draws near to us (James 4:8).
Second, worship helps us to remember who God is and what He has done for us. It reminds us of His goodness, mercy, and love. Third, worship prepares us for service. When we have worshipped, we are filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to live out our faith in practical ways.
The Bible says in John 4:23-24, Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.True worship is not about external rituals or formulas; it's about expressing our hearts' deepest devotion to God.
Spiritual worship involves several key elements.
First, it begins with a sense of awe and reverence for God's majesty. Second, it involves acknowledging our dependence on Him for everything.
Third, it expresses our gratitude for His blessings and mercies. Fourth, it confesses our sin and asks for forgiveness.
Finally, it asks for guidance and empowerment for daily life.
Worship is not just a Sunday morning ritual; it's a way of life. It's a response to God's love and majesty that brings us closer to Him and empowers us for service. May we cultivate a heart of worship that expresses our deepest devotion to our loving Father. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of worship. Help us to truly worship you with our hearts and minds, expressing our gratitude for your love and majesty. May our lives be transformed by the power of your presence in us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
