Pentecost Workers Guild (PeWG) Fellowship with Ghana Shippers’ Authority Staff
Today, the Pentecost Workers Guild (PeWG) of the Church of Pentecost, Sakumono Area, shared a meaningful time of fellowship with the staff of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority. The team was led by the Area Head, Apostle Dr. Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, together with the National Coordinator for the Pentecost Workers Guild, Pastor Emmanuel Anang Kenin.
Pastor Kenin delivered a powerful message on the theme “Christ and Integrity in the Port and Shipping Industry.” In his presentation, he reminded the staff that as Christian workers, we are not merely professionals who happen to be believers, but people called to bring Kingdom values into the workplace. Drawing from Scripture, he highlighted how John the Baptist charged tax collectors and soldiers to practise integrity in their daily duties, and stressed that work itself is sacred, an expression of God’s creative nature.
Pastor Kenin spoke candidly about the ethical challenges facing the ports and shipping industry, including issues of trust, corruption, and bribery. He called for uncompromising integrity and “stubborn honesty” in public institutions, noting that Ghana needs more of the Church’s presence in the public space rather than just more churches. He also outlined practical pathways for living out Christ-likeness at work: openly identifying as a Christian, anchoring one’s profession in prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, pursuing excellence, and using one’s influence to promote godliness and righteousness.
The team was warmly received by Mr. Fred Asiedu-Dartey, Head of Freight and Logistics, who stood in for the CEO of the Authority, Prof. Ransford Gyampo. The CEO was away on official duties outside Accra.
About 60 staff members attended in person, while others joined virtually from the various regional offices. Altogether, out of a staff strength of 180, about 150 participated.
The meeting was prayerfully and successfully put together by the Area PeWG Coordinating Team, led by Elder Dr. Abraham Mensah. Also present were the other members of the Area Coordinating team: Eld. David Ansong, Elder Nathaniel Owulaku, Eld. David Nkyi Ocran, Dcns. Felicia Adomah Grant-Nartey, Dcns. Catherine Anaman, and Dcns. Peaceful Wireko-Ababio.
As a gesture of encouragement, the Area Head, Apostle Dr. Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, donated 40 hard-copy Bibles to the staff to support them in their walk with God.
It was a rich time of teaching, fellowship, and mutual encouragement.
