Title: Opening Heavens and your act of Giving
Giving is a powerful spiritual key that opens the windows of heaven. When we give, we don't just help others; we activate God's supernatural provision and blessing in our own lives. The Bible teaches us that God is a generous God, and He wants His children to be generous too.
To experience this open heaven, we must learn to give to three specific groups of people.
1. Give to the Poor and Needy
When you give to those who are less fortunate, you are showing God's love in a practical way. The Bible promises that when you help the poor, God will bless you and supply your own needs.
Scripture: "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done." (Proverbs 19:17)
Scripture: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap." (Luke 6:38)
Giving to the poor doesn't make you poorer; it invites God to be your provider. He will give you better things, including peace, joy, and provision.
2. Give to Support the Kingdom of God
Your giving should help spread the Gospel. This includes supporting your local church, building places of worship, funding evangelism, and sponsoring crusades. When you invest your money in God's work, you are storing up treasure in heaven. In return, God promises to bless you with riches (not just money, but also spiritual wealth and wisdom) and to protect you.
Scripture: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." (Malachi 3:10)
Scripture: "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." (2 Corinthians 9:6)
Your support for the church is a seed that will produce a harvest of souls and a harvest of blessings in your life.
3. Give to the Rich and Influential
This point may seem surprising, but the Bible shows us that giving to those in authority or positions of influence can open doors that you cannot open by yourself. This could be giving a gift to a leader, a boss, or a person of influence. It is a way to show honor and favor, which can lead to promotion and new opportunities.
A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great."
Scripture: "A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before the great." (Proverbs 18:16, NKJV)
This is not about bribery; it is about giving a gift of honor or appreciation that God can use to elevate you. It connects you to people who can help you fulfill your destiny.
Additional Point: Give with a Cheerful Heart
The attitude of your heart matters more than the size of the gift. God loves a cheerful giver.
· Scripture: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Know this:
Giving is not about losing your money; it is about planting seeds. When you give to the poor, to God's kingdom, and to those in authority, you are opening the heavens over your life. Your generosity invites God's blessing, protection, provision, and favor. So, be a giver, and watch God open doors for you!
