IMPACT WORD DEVOTIONAL FOR THE WEEK
GOD'S UNLIMITED RESOURCES
Ephesians 1:18-19.
I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, "and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. He displayed this power in the working of His mighty strength.
It is very interesting that the person the Holy Spirit uses to teach the truth about God's unlimited resources is the Apostle Paul. After all that is credited to him as his achievements in the Christian life, Paul still yearns to experience more. No one knows exactly what God showed him when God took him into the third heavens (which is also a mystery to be fully understood), but it is clear that the experience opened his eyes.
Look at yourself before God today and say, "I have not arrived yet, I know nothing, I need to know more than this". Does it surprise anyone that the prayer above is the prayer the Apostle often prayed for all who have come to be born again? His letters are full of this kind of prayer.
There is something about your eyes being opened, which has the power to transform everything about you. When for example, your eyes are opened to see the life God has prepared for you in heaven, you will almost immediately stop chasing the things of this world, no matter what promise they hold for you. When our eyes are opened, it also makes us spend our lives as true worshippers. Pray this prayer every day.
Prayer
Father, my life will be complete if You make me see the fullness of Your glory and embrace it and walk in it all my life. My heart is ready for this. May I continually yearn for nothing but the manifestation of the glory of God in my life in the name of Jesus.
