“Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”

EXPOSITION
This verse presents one of the most powerful pictures of security in Christ. Jesus is called our forerunner; the One who has gone ahead of us. In ancient times, a forerunner was a scout or representative who went forward to prepare the way for others to follow. Christ did not enter heaven merely for Himself; He entered for us.
He passed beyond the veil; the place of God’s immediate presence; and secured eternal access on our behalf. Unlike the Old Testament priests who entered temporarily, Jesus entered once and forever as our eternal High Priest. His priesthood is not temporary, not inherited, not fragile; it is everlasting.
For the believer, this means our hope is not fragile or earthly. Our anchor is not in circumstances, titles, or human approval. Our anchor is in a living Christ who stands in the presence of God for us. When storms come; whether ministry pressures, relational tensions, or personal doubts; remember: your future is secured in a place no storm can reach.
You are anchored behind the veil.

Father, Strengthen my faith to trust what You have secured for me beyond the veil. Help me live with confidence, knowing my access to You is permanent through Christ in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Text: Hebrews 6:17–18 (KJV)
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

EXPOSITION
In a world where promises are easily broken, God’s promise stands unshaken. Hebrews reminds us that God not only made a promise but confirmed it with an oath. This was not because He needed to prove Himself, but to give us strong consolation; deep assurance and unshakeable confidence.
The “two immutable things” are God’s promise and His oath. Both are anchored in His unchanging nature. It is impossible for God to lie. His character guarantees His word. What He has spoken over your life will not fail. What He has promised concerning your calling, your ministry, and your future is secure.
The passage also says we have “fled for refuge” to lay hold of hope. This is the language of someone running from danger into a fortified place. Christ is our refuge. When doubts, delays, or discouragements arise, we don’t run away; we run into His promise.
Your hope is not built on circumstances. It is built on the unchangeable counsel of God.

Faithful Father, Help me to hold firmly to the hope set before me. Strengthen my heart with strong consolation, and teach me to run to You as my refuge. I trust Your counsel, Your covenant, and Your character in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

EXPOSITION
This verse reminds us that human oaths carry weight because they are made in reference to something greater. When God speaks or makes a promise, He confirms it with His own oath; an unshakable guarantee. Unlike human promises, God’s word is absolute and final; it ends all doubt and conflict. Believers can therefore anchor their faith in God’s promises, knowing they are backed by His very character and authority. Trusting God’s word gives peace, stability, and courage to live boldly, even in uncertainty.

“And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”

EXPOSITION
Hebrews 6:15 speaks of Abraham, a man who received God’s promise but did not see its fulfillment immediately. Between the promise and the performance was a long season of waiting. Yet Scripture says, “after he had patiently endured.” The promise was sure, but the process required endurance.
God’s promises are not activated by haste but by steadfast faith. Patient endurance is not passive resignation; it is active trust. It is continuing to obey when results are unseen, continuing to believe when circumstances contradict, and continuing to hope when delays seem long.
As a servant of God, you know that ministry, calling, and destiny unfold in stages. The promise over your life may be clear, but the timing belongs to God. The question is not whether God will fulfill His word; He will. The question is whether we will endure faithfully until the appointed time.
Endurance matures character. Waiting deepens faith. And when the promise finally manifests, the testimony carries greater weight because it was forged in patience.

Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

EXPOSITION
This verse recalls God’s oath to Abraham; a promise not based on human performance but on divine faithfulness. When God says “Surely,” He removes uncertainty. His promises are not wishes; they are covenants backed by His character. Abraham waited through delay, barrenness, and testing, yet God’s word stood firm.
For us today, this verse is a reminder that God’s blessing is intentional and His multiplication is deliberate. Sometimes the process feels slow, but the promise is secure. Delay does not mean denial. If God has spoken, He will fulfill it in His appointed time. Our responsibility is to trust, endure, and remain faithful while He works behind the scenes.
The same God who swore to bless Abraham is the God who watches over His word in your life. Stand on His promise. His integrity guarantees your future.
