What marriage is and what marriage is not.
Many a times we ignore the true directions of God when entering into marriage.
We enter into marriage either with our own understanding and principles, or the examples of our parents and family members, or the examples of friends and worse of it all, the examples of what the media is showing and telling us.

But in getting into the marriage, you need the understanding from the creator's own mouth. His principles, wisdom, knowledge and guidance on the fact that, marriage is a ministry that requires the daily hard work of both the man and the woman.

Marriage has a manual which is the bible for our guidance till death do us part.

Marriage represents the perfect and the ultimate love and sacrifices of Jesus to the Church as our example to follow.

Marriage follows the principles of leaving and cleaving, it is a service from each other to each other, and it requires our total obedience and submission to God's instructions.

Marriage, is earthly lasting institution with no divorce, and it requires the man to love and the woman to submit.

Marriage expects the man to be the visionary with God's spiritual purpose for the growth and the development of the family, and the woman to support the vision.
This and many more are God's thoughts about marriage.

So the next time you decide to enter into this holy institution called marriage, know that only God's thoughts counts b4 you marry. God bless.

IS A CHECKLIST NEEDED IN CHOOSING RIGHT FOR MARRIAGE?

A checklist is needed when done with the guidance of the bible or a professional marriage counselor.
It serves as a defense mechanism in choosing the right personality compatible for you, seeking clarity on individuals needs, and identifying potential self weaknesses for the future marriage survival.
A checklist is not based on only fleshly desires for nice cars, clothes, houses, financial riches, good s*x, good education, good job, physical structure of strength, beauty and handsomeness. Because when you focus on only these things, you will be building your marital foundation in the sand which when life issues start creeping into the marriage, the marriage will shake and crush.

Rather, your checklist must be built on the rock of truth, godliness, obedience to God's word, holiness, kindness, respect, patience, love, and the person's readiness and understanding of marriage and to change in the future for the betterment of the family.
When your checklist considers the above fruit of the Spirit, your prayer for the right person will be in alignment with God's purpose for your life and he will add the other desired needed things like beauty and riches to you even when you don't ask for them.
Remember what God did for King Solomon in the bible when he asked for wisdom, God added riches to it.
So the next time you write down your checklist, do it in consideration with God's purpose for your marital enjoyment.

Psychology.
It is the mental process in making a decision which determines our action or behavior. In making a decision, the mind goes through different stages of thoughts and ideas before arriving at the final stage of action.
And in our everyday life, we make decisions on things like who to marry, how to stay married and during divorce. Again, we decide on building a business, a house, good parenting in raising godly children, the school to choose for the kids, the new location to move to, our finances and what to do during the challenges associating with the developmental stages of growth from teenage to adulthood and old age.

Most often, these decisions can be overwhelming with stress, anxiety and trauma in knowing the right thing to do with the right frame of mind. Our emotions and feelings sometimes take over the decision of the mind. And after we have tried to solve it with different options and cannot see the way through, the option of speaking to a professional psychologist is important to consider for a better choice.

The thoughts of psychological counseling being only for the serious mental suffering people must be re-looked at as we all one way or another go through unstable mental health at a certain point in life.
Today, I encourage you to consider the importance of seeking a psychologist for yourself and loved ones when you are overwhelmed with mixed feelings and thoughts on the better decision to take. Thank you and God bless 🙏
