Feast of St. Maria Goretti celebration at St. Martin De Porres, Nkoranza.
The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of St. Paul Cathedral, Techiman, St. Michael Catholic Church, Anyimana, and Holy Family Catholic Church, Kenten joined the youth of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Nkoranza to celebrate the Feast of St. Maria Goretti from 17th to 19th July 2026.
The three day celebration brought together young Catholics from the participating parishes for a period of prayer, fellowship, and faith formation. Activities during the celebration included a Marian procession accompanied by Rosary prayers, the celebration of Holy Mass, sporting activities, a quiz competition, cultural and drama performances, and vibrant jama sessions that fostered unity and friendship among the participants.
The celebration reached its climax on Sunday, 19th July 2026, with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by the Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Isaac Lamanum. In his homily, he encouraged the youth to remain steadfast in their faith and to imitate the virtues of St. Maria Goretti, especially her purity, courage, and commitment to Christ.
A major highlight of the Eucharistic celebration was the induction of twelve (12) Young Apostles into the rank of Christian Soldiers after they had successfully fulfilled all the required formation and spiritual criteria. The induction marked a significant milestone in their journey of faith and service to the Church.
The celebration concluded with renewed enthusiasm among the youth, who departed inspired to live out the Gospel values exemplified by St. Maria Goretti and to continue strengthening the bonds of unity within the Catholic Youth Organization.
