*Determine To Grow In The Lord*

> 1 Samuel 2:26 says, “And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favour both with the Lord and men.”
Growth is one of the clearest signs of life. Anything that is alive is expected to grow, develop, and mature. In the same way, every believer is expected to grow spiritually. Spiritual growth is not automatic; it requires intentional pursuit, discipline, and consistency.
Many believers remain spiritually weak because they neglect their spiritual development. Without growth, it becomes difficult to walk in the authority, power, and maturity God has prepared for His children. God desires that you move beyond spiritual infancy into maturity and strength in Him. Here are three ways to grow in the Lord:
i. *Crave the Word of God continually.*
1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” Just as a baby longs for milk, you must hunger for God’s Word daily. The Word nourishes your spirit, strengthens your faith, and shapes your character. Spend time in devotion, prayer, and meditation on Scripture consistently.
ii. *Remain connected to Christ and His Church.*
Colossians 2:6–7 says, “Continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him…” Growth happens when you stay connected. Fellowship with God and regular participation in church life strengthen your spiritual roots. Isolation weakens believers, but fellowship encourages growth and stability.
iii. *Maintain a teachable spirit.*
Acts 8:31 says, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” A teachable heart is essential for growth. Pride resists instruction, but humility welcomes correction and wisdom. Be willing to learn from God’s servants, mentors, and mature believers who can help you grow in understanding and faith.
Dearly beloved, make a deliberate decision to grow spiritually. Feed on God’s Word, remain connected to Christ, and stay teachable.Spiritual maturity will strengthen your walk with God and position you for greater usefulness in His Kingdom.

Heavenly Father, help me to grow in spiritual maturity and in the knowledge of Your Word. Give me hunger for Your presence, a teachable heart, and the discipline to remain rooted in You, in Jesus Christ Mighty name, Amen.
