Contend For The Faith
Jude 1:3.
'Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.'
Hallelujah, dearly loved ones. Today, I bring the gospel of salvation to your attention. Our salvation originates from one source, Jesus Christ, and cannot be found elsewhere. This salvation necessitates diligent maintenance through fear of God and righteousness, rather than loyalty to a particular church or Pastor. It demands fighting for the faith by rectifying errors, shunning worldly doctrines, and living a God-pleasing life.
1 Timothy 6:12 instructs us to 'fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life.' You must strive for this faith to qualify for eternal life, not by defending a church name, but through your belief in Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 testifies, ' I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.'
We contend for the faith throughout our lives, and this faith must be preserved until our last breath, for a crown of righteousness awaits. Luke 13:23-24 warns us to 'strive to enter through the narrow gate.' Eternal life requires effort, like a race to be won.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 admonishes us to 'run in such a way that you may obtain it.' Now, let the gospel work within you. Philippians 1:27 urges, 'Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ.' Amen.
