Title: Marriage and the Responsibilities of Wives. (Conclusion)

We have learned that husbands are the head of the wife and household, while wives are the heart of the family. Without them, the family is incomplete. Wives bring the family together, just as husbands provide and wives manage.

Both husbands and wives have vital roles to play. That is why we should not view marriage as portrayed in telenovelas or by the media. One should enter marriage with carefulness, without rushing. Women, especially, must be cautious, as they are often disadvantaged. Men can easily move on, leaving wives with child care responsibilities and sometimes remarrying quickly.

God did not give Eve to Adam randomly. He created a helper comparable to him (Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.")
This emphasizes that not just anyone makes a suitable partner for a successful marriage.

Women should exercise caution with prayer, fasting, and thorough evaluation before accepting a marriage proposal. If already married, maintenance is key. May God help you.

The primary role of wives in marriage is to be a helper (Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.).Helper in Hebrew is Ezer meaning strength, so wives are to provide strength and companionship for their husbands (Malachi 2:14). The saying, "behind every successful man is a woman" underscores this.

Another crucial role is motherhood (Genesis 3:16 to the woman He said:"I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And He shall rule over you.") This includes pain, sorrow, and nurturing. Although husbands have a role, wives are primarily responsible for nurturing (Isaiah 66: 13 As one whom his mother comforts, So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.)" and (Isaiah 49:15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? ) Train children to fear God (Proverbs 22: 6 Train up a child in the way He should go, And when He is old He will not depart from it.)

Lastly, wives have a role of submission to husbands. (Ephesians 5: 22 Wives, submit to your husbands, as to the Lord.) This does not mean master-slave relationship or blind obedience. It is voluntary, respecting individuality and rights. Husbands should show love, enabling wives to submit.

May God guide us in our marriage in Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen.

Text: Galatians 3:21
Title: Why should Christians celebrate Jewish feasts? (Continued)

One may ask, "If these feasts were given to the Jews, why should Christians celebrate them?" God wants Christians to celebrate them because He aligned Christian historical events with the Jewish feasts. This tells us that Christians are also God chosen, Holy and special people (Deuteronomy 7: 6 "For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself , a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth) and through Jesus Christ our Lord we have become Abraham (Father of the Jews) seed. (Galatians 3: 29 and if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.). God calls these feasts “His feast" (Leviticus 23:2) and should be celebrated by all generations. (Exodus 12: 14 'So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance.) So Jesus Christ and the disciples celebrated it.

Passover, for Jews, commemorates God sparing the Jews from the plague by having them kill a sheep and put its blood on their door posts. It is also a reminder of their deliverance from slavery. For Christians, Jesus Christ is our Passover lamb, sacrificed for us on the Cross (1 Corinthians 5:7), for deliverance from all our sins.

The feast of First fruits, where Jews offer their harvest's first fruits to God, coincides with Jesus Christ's resurrection. Paul wrote (1 Corinthians 15:20), "But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruit of those who have fallen asleep."

Pentecost, when God gave the Ten Commandments to the Jews to guide them, marks the day the Holy Spirit descended upon Christians to also guide them. (Act 2)

Three feasts remain unfulfilled for Christians but are predicted in the New Testament as end-time prophecies:

1. The Feast of Trumpet: Paul said (1 Thessalonians 4: 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.) and 1 Corinthians 15:52), signaling the rapture.

2. The Day of Atonement: Is the highest holy day of the Jewish calendar. In the Old Testament, the Jews, through the high priest make a sacrifice for the sins of the people on the Day of Atonement. This is the act of paying for penalty for sins and bringing reconciliation (a restored relationship) between the people and God. Jesus Christ's blood cleanses believers. (2 Corinthians 5: 21 and 1 Corinthians 15:3). So after the Trumpet or Rapture we will reconcile with God. So it is a day for redemption, purification and reconciliation to meet God

3. The Tabernacle (or Tents/Booths): representing rest in the place of liberty to come (Revelation 21: - 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.") Jesus promised eternal life during the Feast of Tabernacle (John 7:37-39).

The Feasts is all about acknowledging the goodness of God in your life by giving or showing Love to the needy. (Deuteronomy 16: 14 And you shall rejoice in your feast , you and your son and your daughter , your male servant and your female servant and the Levite , the stranger and the fatherless and the widow , who are within your gates). Emphasizes rejoicing and inclusivity during these feasts.

As Christians, let us fast, pray, and give during the Feast of Tabernacle (October 16-23) to demonstrate God's nature in us. (James 1: 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.)

May we receive the Feast of Tabernacle's blessings in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.

Text: Isaiah 49: 15 (Nurturing)
Title: Marriage and the Responsibilities of Wives (Part 4): Motherhood.

"Pregnancy and giving birth are just the beginning of motherhood. God created women specially to bring forth new life on earth. As representatives of God, women bring life and people into the world. Children are a gift from God (Psalm 127: 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.) This makes wives instrumental in bringing God's blessings to earth.

After the pains and struggles of childbirth, the critical stage of motherhood begins – nurturing. This determines the child's future (Proverbs 22: 6 Train up a child in the way He should go, And when He is old He will not depart from it.) Nurturing requires selfless love, care, and sacrifice.

God has given mothers a unique bond with their children, starting from conception. Even before the child is formed, God knows them (Jeremiah 1: 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." This natural bond strengthens through nurturing, from pregnancy to birth and beyond.

Mothers should be mindful of their influence during pregnancy, as the child absorbs their words and actions. Nurturing involves sacrificing, caring, and cultivating a child.

The saying 'once you have children, you become mad' highlights the selfless nature of motherhood. Only a specially gifted person can willingly take on this role, demonstrating God-like qualities. (Isaiah 66:, 13 As one whom his mother comforts , So I will comfort you; And you shall be comforted in Jerusalem." an Isaiah 49:15 says "Can a woman forget her nursing child , And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. "

True mothers spend countless hours caring for their children, playing multiple roles: protector, teacher, voice of wisdom, and defender. They prioritize their children's happiness without complaint.

Motherhood is not limited to biological birth; it's about selfless service. Some fathers or individuals without children may exhibit true qualities of motherhood.

May God bless true mothers mightily in Jesus Christ's name, Amen."

Text: Genesis 3:16
Title: Marriage and the Responsibilities of Wives (Part 4): Motherhood (Pregnancy)

We cannot discuss the responsibilities of wives without addressing motherhood, which is one of the primary responsibilities of wives in marriage. Motherhood begins with pregnancy. Pregnancy came with a curse (after Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit; Genesis 3: 16 God said to the woman, "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children.) Consequently, pregnancy has been a painful and burdensome experience for wives and women, even to the extent of death.

Despite the challenges, women willingly go through pregnancy because of their love for having children and becoming mothers. It is the pride of every wife and woman. Some unmarried women also choose to become mothers willing to go through the pain of pregnancy without a husband's support. What a love mothers demonstrate by willingness to go through such suffering to have children. In the Bible, we see examples of women who endured difficult labor, such as Rachel who had a hard labor in given birth to Benjamin and died in childbirth (Genesis 35:16-20) and Tamar also had hard labor (Genesis 38:27-30).

However, women find joy in the pain because it ends with the joy of giving birth to a child. As John 16:21 says, "A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world."

Women believe children are not only a reward for their pain and anguish but also a reward from God (Psalm 127: 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.
5 Happy is the man or woman who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.)

Having children brings respect in this world. Moreover, God forms every child with a purpose in life (Jeremiah 1: 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.)

God loves and supports women during pregnancy and labor (Isaiah 66: 7 "Before she was in labor, she gave birth; Before her pain came, She delivered a male child. 8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children. 9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?" says the Lord. "Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?" says your God. )

Husbands should respect and support their wives, recognizing that pregnancy and labor are life or death situations.

May God be with all women during their pregnancy and labor, in Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen.

Text: Proverbs 31: 10-31
Title: Marriage and the Responsibilities of Wives (Part 3): The Role of the Helper (conclusion).

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her" (Proverbs 31:28). This verse highlights the appreciation and recognition a virtuous wife receives from her family for her selfless love, sacrifices, and dedication.

Her children grow up with love and guidance, instilled with the fear of God which she models as a God-fearing person. They recognize her unwavering support and bless her, acknowledging her as a blessing in their lives.

Her husband praises her for shouldering his responsibilities, executing them flawlessly, and making him a respectable figure in society. He acknowledges her exceptional love, submission, and sacrifice, declaring her the best wife in the world.

(Verse 29 says, "Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.)" This emphasizes that while there are many good wives and mothers, she stands out because of her extraordinary love, sacrifice, and service to her husband, children, the poor, and everyone she encounters.

(Verse 30 reminds us, "Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.)" A virtuous wife's strength and wisdom come from relying on God (Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me). Her beauty is not just external, it also reflects her inner character, as described in (1 Peter 3:3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward; arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.)

The final verse, 31, concludes, "Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates." Her sacrifices, love, wisdom, and hard work speak for themselves, earning her public recognition and praise.

In conclusion, every husband desires a wife with these exceptional qualities (Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.)
What husband would not be blessed to have such a wife? This is the standard wives should strive for. I know there are many wives who are doing even much more than this, but their husbands don't appreciate it.

May God bless and strengthen our marriages in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
