JUSTIFIED BY FAITH IN CHRIST
The consistent teaching of scripture is that justification is by faith alone apart from works.
That by definition is against any meritorious work done by the recipient of justification. "For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight" and the recipient of justification has nothing to boast about. [Gal 2:16, Rom 3:20, Gal 3:11, Eph 2:8-9]
It means whatever faith is, is opposite to works in the doctrine of justification. [Rom 3:28 ]
This is how we inherit the blessings of Abraham. This is how we become children of faith. For the father of faith obtained his justification through faith in the promise of God. [Gen 15:6, Rom 4:3]
