*EASTER SUNDAY SERMON BY REV EDWIN EFFAH KYEREMEH : HOPE OF HEAVEN MINISTRY, SUNYANI*
*THEME*: _Put Christ into your crisis for Christ is our Game changer_
*Test*: Numbers 21:4 - 9, John 3:14 , 2 chronicles 7:14
*INTRODUCTION*: Easter is the period to reflect on your life and make the necessary reformations to connect with your maker. It is the time to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We Christians believe that Jesus Christ was sent by God the father to live among us, to show us perfect love. Jesus loved outcasts and sinners . Jesus offered hope and healing . Jesus said our joy is found in sacrificial generosity and not in accruing possessions.
Easter shows that our mortal bodies die but life for us continues. Easter shows us that we need not to fear death. Death no longer has dominion over us .
This holiday celebration gives a complete reorientation of the universe that love defeats hate ,hope defeat fear, sacrifice defeats greed ,mercy defeats might, life defeats death.
Numbers 21:4 (KJV) And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
Numbers 21:5 (KJV) And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
Numbers 21:6 (KJV) And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Numbers 21:7 (KJV) Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
Numbers 21:8 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
Numbers 21:9 (KJV) And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
*FIVE (5) BASIC PRINCIPLES WE LEARNT FROM THE BIBLE TEXT*
1. Have faith in the Lord in all things.
2. Never question God's plan for your life.
3. Accept your mistakes and pray for forgiveness because God always listens.
4. Obey and accept the decision of men of God. If you disobey their authority you have disobeyed God.
5. Prayer is the key to change your situation.
As it is written
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
In this trying times we need to humble ourselves and pray to God ,all our lands will be healed , we need the face of God like never before .
I always say this pandemic is a blessing to us all , at least we sit down to reflect on our lives and connect to our Lord . *After this pandemic there is great revolution that is coming and the church is going to move to a different dimension and our Lord will be glorified .*
Be part of this great revolution by starting with this Easter .This is the time to do the work of God because the people that know their God will do exploits.
How well do you know your God?
I will end my sermon with a story a friend shared with me "A pastor was struggling to prepare his sermon
and didn't want to be disturbed by his five (5)
year old daughter so he removed a map of the
world from his study, tore it into pieces and
gave it to his daughter to assemble with the
promise that he would answer all her questions
and play with her when she was done.
He knew she would never be able to fix it.
To his amazement, in less than five minutes, she returned to him in his study with the map in perfect shape, every continent and every
country in its place.
The surprised father asked, ''Honey, you don't
know anything about geography, so how did
you fix the world so easily and quickly?
The five year old girl smiled sweetly and
replied, ''The picture of JESUS was at the back
of the map and I knew that if I have JESUS in
the right place, the whole world would be in
perfect shape.''
That was just the right inspiration he needed
for his sermon.
He thanked his daughter and prepared a
powerful sermon on the subject - 'Fix your world
by placing JESUS at the right place'
Just place JESUS in his rightful place and your
life will be in order."
Just have Jesus at the right place, the whole world will be in perfect shape. This Easter fix your world by placing Jesus at the right place.
