The Fiapre District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana visits Fiapre Traditional Authority and Muslim Mission

This visit is part of strengthening the Ecumenical and Social Relations between the church and people of other faith. The visit to the Muslim Mission came after a week of visiting the Traditional Authorities to pray, share the word of God and fellowship with them on the Friday 14th April 2023. The delegation to the Palace was led by Rev. Eric Kwasi Ntow, District Minister, Rev. Samuel Kwabena Abu, CLAN Director, Catechist Grace Ofori Boaky, Grace Congregation, Mr. Samuel Abeka Donkor, Senior Presbyter – Hope Congregation and other members of the District Session.

On the visit to the Muslim Mission on Thursday 20th April 2023, the District Minister, Rev. Eric Kwasi Ntow was with Rev. Samuel Kwabena Abu, CLAN Director, Catechist Vida Owusu, District Lay Rep, Catechist Grace Ofori Boakye, Grace Congregation and other District Session members. The delegation donated some assorted items to the Muslim Mission as part of their Ramadan Fasting and congratulated them for the 30-day fasting period. The visit to the Muslim Mission is historic in the District because it is the first of its kind in the District.

FIAPRE DISTRICT IS 5 YEARS

The Fiapre District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana crowned her 5th Anniversary Celebration with a Thanksgiving Service on 3rd April, 2022 at Hope Congregation, Fiapre.

The Brong Ahafo Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Benjamin Appiah thanked and congratulated all ministers and catechists that has ever worked in the Fiapre District before her elevation to a district status and those who are still working within the district. He admonished the church to reflect the light of Christ in the district by making Christ known to all men, because Christ is the main light.
Obrempong Prof. Kyem-Amponsah II through Nana Asante Nketiah made an appeal to the District and the Presbytery at large to make plans towards establishing an education institute (it could be a Presbyterian Senior High, Nursing and Midwifery Training College or College of Education) within the district.

In course of the celebration some certificates and citations of honor were presented to some people who devoted their time and resources to help the district and the churches within the district.
Citation of Honor was presented to the following people; Rev. Paul Kwame Darko (First Fiapre District Minister now Goaso District Minister), Obrempong Prof. Kyem-Amponsah II (Chief of Fiapre Traditional Area), Cat. Grace Ofori Boakye (Founding Member, Caretaker and First Catechist of Mt. Zion Congregation now at Grace Congregation, Berlin Top), Mr. Yaw Antwi Ababio (First Lay Rep of Fiapre District) and Op. Martin Kumi Yeboah (Founding Member, Presbyter and Senior Presbyter of Peace Congregation, Mantukwa).

Also certificates were presented to Mr. John Ofosu Denkyira, Former Director for DSS for the District and Mr. Isaac Amoako, Former Treasurer of the District having served from 2017 to 2021.

In attendance also was Mr. Stephen Attuah Oppong, Brong Ahafo Presbytery Lay Rep and a representative from the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive.

In all it was a great occasion and celebration. Looking forward greater heights and achievements in the next five years to come.

Prison Outreach and Donation

As part of the fifth anniversary celebration, the Fiapre District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana led by Rev. Eric Kwasi Ntow (District Minister), Rev. Michel Nuerty, Rev. Kwadwo Nyantakyi, Rev. Cecilia Asiedu Asieduwaa, Catechist Vida Owusu (District Lay Rep) and some members of the district visited the Sunyani Central Prisons on the 19th March, 2022.

A list of items including toiletries, first aid items, food stuffs, drinks among others were donated to the inmates. The church after the donation had a short service with the inmates, where they were encouraged not to give up but see their been there as part of God's plan just like that of Joseph.
