|| NUPS-G, UENR (SUNYANI) & COLLEGE OF HEALTH, (YAMFO) ELEVATED TO SUB COORDINATING BRANCHES ||

‎Following approval granted by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the National Union of Presbyterian Students - Ghana (NUPS-G), the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, and the College of Health (CoH), Yamfo, Coordinated Branches have been elevated to Sub-Coordinating Branches, signifying a significant step in the growth and expansion of student ministry in the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the PCG.

‎At colourful services held respectively at Ascension and Unity Congregations, the elevation ceremonies were marked by joy, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the mission of nurturing young Presbyterians in faith, leadership, and service. The services were officiated by Rev. Vincent Kwame Osei, the Presbytery Schools and Campus (NUPS-G) Coordinator, assisted by representatives of the NUPS-G NEC, namely Master Justice Delali Kuditey, the KNUST Coordinating Branch President, and Master Akwasi Aning Acheampong, the Schools’ Coordinator.

‎The elevation is a strategic step aimed at strengthening the administrative structures of the Union, enhancing effective coordination of activities, and creating greater opportunities for evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship among students within the jurisdictions of the newly elevated Branches. It also reflects the increasing membership, vibrancy, and dedication of the Branches, whose progress has warranted their advancement to a higher level of responsibility within NUPS-G.

‎For many years, all NUPS-G groups within the Brong Ahafo Presbytery have operated under the KNUST Coordinating Branch. It has long been a cherished aspiration to establish a Coordinating Branch within the Presbytery itself, so that the various school and campus fellowships may be more effectively coordinated, strengthened, and provided with the necessary administrative and spiritual support.

‎The elevation of the NUPS-G, UENR, and College of Health, Yamfo, to Sub-Coordinating Branches therefore marks a significant and progressive step toward the realization of that broader vision. What makes these milestones particularly historic is that they coincide with the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery, demonstrating that even in a season of reflection, gratitude, and thanksgiving, the Lord continues to grant growth and expansion to His Church.

‎Speaking at the ceremonies, the KNUST Coordinating Branch President, commended the elevated Branches and urged them to embrace the responsibilities that accompany their new status. He stated: “Your efforts toward this height are truly commendable. It is a testament to your labour in the Lord, your faithfulness in little things, and ultimately, the will of God unfolding in your season. Elevation is not just a change in structure; it is a call to higher responsibility, extended vision, and greater assignment.”

‎The leadership of the STU Sub-Coordinating Branch, from which the two schools were elevated, also demonstrated solidarity with the newly elevated Branches. Its President, Master Patrick, expressed his goodwill: “Your elevation is our priority, and we are grateful to God for making it possible. Therefore, let us continue to work together to uplift the banner of Christ on our campuses and ensure the growth of the Union and the Church at large. Once again, congratulations.” On behalf of the STU Sub-Coordinating Branch, he presented citations to the two schools.

‎Soli Deo Gloria!

|| CALL TO PRAYER AHEAD OF ELECTIONS AT THE 60TH PRESBYTERY SESSION ||

‎ “So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the day when He was taken up from us—one of these men must become with us a witness to His resurrection.” And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthias.

‎And they prayed and said, “You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two You have chosen to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place .” And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
‎(Acts 1:21–26, ESV)

‎When the apostolic election procedure is situated within the practice of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, one immediately recognizes a clear biblical pattern reflected in the governance of the oldest continuously existing Church in Ghana.

‎First, the apostles established clear criteria for qualification. In the same way, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana outlines qualifications for leadership through its constitutional provisions. Articles 22 and 23, for instance, stipulate eligibility for the offices of Presbytery Chairperson and Presbytery Lay Rep. to the General Assembly Council respectively.

‎Second, the apostles presented nominees for selection. Similarly, Order 7 of the Manual of Order of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana provides that, within the Church’s electoral process, an initial round of voting is conducted to determine the leading nominees who proceed to the final stage of the election.

‎Third, and most importantly, the apostles prayed. Herein lies the greatest weight of the Church’s electioneering process. Leadership in the Church is not merely determined by procedure, popularity, or preference, but by the sovereign guidance of God.

‎As the 60th Session of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery prepares to elect its 16th Chairperson and 12th Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council, prayer remains indispensable.

‎Members are therefore respectfully encouraged to devote time during tomorrow’s worship services to pray earnestly for God’s wisdom, purpose, and direction, that His chosen servants may be revealed for the advancement of His Church.

‎Soli Deo Gloria!

|| BEFITTING BURIAL SERVICE HELD IN HONOR OF THE LATE REV. (RTD) FRANCIS FRIMPONG || CHRISTIANS URGED TO BEAR IMPACTFUL 'NECTAR' ||

‎“On the Cross Christ Jesus died,
‎Our sin He nailed to the Cross.
‎Therefore, when His sheep shall die,
‎They are known to be asleep.

‎They depart like sinful men,
‎Not afraid of God the Judge.
‎They are warriors, going Home,
‎Battle over, must return.”

‎So go the first and second stanzas of Presbyterian Hymn 789, composed by Philipp Friedrich Hiller (1609–1769).

‎It is upon this unshakable conviction that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), on Saturday, April 25, 2026, bid a glorious farewell to one of her gallant soldiers, the late Rev. (Rtd) Francis Frimpong, at a befitting burial service held in his honor at PCG, Emmanuel Congregation, Odomase.

‎Called into the Ordained Ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in 1989, the late Rev. (Rtd) Francis Frimpong served faithfully for three decades and retired in 2019. Having completed his earthly race, he was called to eternity in February 2026 at the age of 77.

‎In a moving tribute read in his honour, his children described him as a teacher, protector, and their greatest earthly supporter. “From our earliest memories, he was always there—guiding us, encouraging us, and reminding us that no matter what happened in life, we were never alone, because God is with us,” they indicated.

‎As a spiritual leader and devoted father, the late Rev. (Rtd) Francis Frimpong exemplified discipline, focus, and hard work. He embodied a life marked by dignity, kindness, courage, love, and wisdom. His legacy, etched not only in ministry but also in the hearts of his family and all who knew him, remains a shining testimony of faithful service and godly fatherhood.

‎Rev. Benjamin Appiah, Chairperson of the Presbytery, on behalf of the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, and members of the General Assembly Council, conveyed the Church’s heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Rev. (Rtd) Francis Frimpong.

‎Preaching from Psalm 90:6, Papa Appiah reflected on the fragility and fleeting nature of human life. He noted that life is like a flower which begins as a tender shoot and blossoms in beauty, yet with the passage of time, it fades away, losing its lustre, brilliance, and splendour.

‎The Chairperson stressed that although the flower is fleeting, it nevertheless springs forth to fulfil a purpose. Its nectar and beauty exist for the glory of God and for the service of humanity. In the same way, he urged members to live and serve the Lord purposefully. “You do great injustice to yourself when you ignore God and refuse to serve Him,” he stated, calling on all gathered to be committed to God wholeheartedly.

‎He further reminded members that though human life is brief, each person must strive to leave something behind—a worthy legacy for generations to remember. The Chairperson indicated that "Just as the growth of a flower depends on the gardener, so also the growth and flourishing of every life depends on God, the Divine Gardener".

‎The message was a stirring call to bear impactful 'nectar' and beauty through lives of faithfulness, service, and devotion, just as the late Rev. (Rtd) Francis Frimpong lived. It also served as a solemn reminder that though earthly life is transient, those who live in Christ depart with the hope of eternal glory.

‎May the soul of Rev. (Rtd) Francis Frimpong rest in perfect peace. May the souls of the faithful departed rest in Christ eternally.

‎Soli Deo Gloria!

|| EMPOWERMENT SEMINAR: FEMALE STUDENTS AT BECHEM PRESEC URGED TO PRIORITIZE THEIR EDUCATION ||

‎On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, through its Department of Education under the leadership of Rev. Mrs. Ernestina Gyarteng, organized an empowerment seminar for female students at Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School. The programme, themed “From Potential to Power: Empowering the Youth to Lead, Innovate and Inspire,” was designed to guide students to recognize and harness their potential for purposeful living and leadership.

‎Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Yaa Boateng Marfo, a lecturer at Sunyani Technical University (STU), emphasized that every individual has the capacity to become who they aspire to be, but this requires discipline, intentionality, and a clear sense of direction. She encouraged the students to remain grounded in their roots, noting that a constant awareness of one’s background serves as both motivation and a source of humility. Dr. Marfo further stressed that when one is convinced about doing what is right, external negativity and distractions lose their influence.

‎A key highlight of the seminar was the emphasis on exposure and the need to maximize opportunities, particularly during the senior high school phase. Students were urged to dedicate themselves to their studies and personal development, making the most of every learning opportunity available to them. Reflecting on her personal experiences, Dr. Marfo noted that recognizing and nurturing early signs of academic strength can open doors to greater achievements.

Students were also admonished to approach every task with diligence and a sense of divine purpose, echoing the biblical principle: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your heart, as unto God.” The importance of making the best use of opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom, was underscored as a vital ingredient for success.

‎She emphasized that choosing friends wisely is crucial, as one’s circle significantly shapes attitudes, values, and outcomes. "You can hardly become anything different from those you associate with", she remarked profoundly. She stressed on the power of a disciplined life: “Discipline is indispensable; without it, lasting success is unattainable,” she stated, urging the students to adopt consistent study habits rather than last-minute cramming.

‎The seminar concluded with a strong call to action: students should believe in their potential, intentionally develop their strengths, work on their weaknesses, and remain committed to becoming the best versions of themselves. With focus, discipline, and faith, they can indeed rise from potential to power and become leaders who innovate and inspire.

‎The team comprised Mr. Isaac Twum, Head of Inspectorate at the Presbyterian Education Unit, Sunyani; Rev. Vincent Kwame Osei, Public Relations Officer; and Emmanuel Asamoah, Media Personnel.

60TH SESSION || ANNIVERSARY || ELECTIONS

At the 60th Session of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the House will undertake the sacred task of electing a new Presbytery Chairperson and a new Presbytery Lay Representative to the General Assembly Council (GAC).

This is not merely an administrative process, but a deeply spiritual exercise that calls for discernment under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In light of this, all members are earnestly called to a season of prayer—both personal and corporate—seeking the mind and will of God for the Presbytery.

Let us pray that the Lord Himself will raise leaders after His own heart, endowed with wisdom, humility, integrity, and a passion for His Church. May our prayers invite divine direction, so that those who are chosen will serve faithfully for the growth, unity, and mission of the Presbytery, to the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.

|| PRESBYTERY 2026 EVANGELISM LAUNCH: GROWING STEADILY—MAKING CHRIST, THE FOUNDATION KNOWN ||

‎The Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), on Sunday, April 19, 2026, held a special service at PCG, Resurrection Congregation, New Dormaa, in the Sunyani East District, during which the 2026 Evangelism Programme was officially launched. This occasion signals a clarion call to the entire Church, summoning both clergy and laity to renewed commitment and intentional participation in the 'Missio Dei'.

‎The Launch serves as a reminder to all members of the Church to reflect on their responsibility as witnesses to Christ’s redemptive work, calling them to engage actively in outreach, discipleship, and the holistic transformation of society. The event reinforces the conviction that evangelism remains central to the identity and mission of the Church, demanding collective dedication, sacrificial service, and unwavering obedience to Christ’s commission (Matt. 28:19-20)

‎Preaching on the theme, “The Foundation: Catalyst for Holistic Christian Growth” (1 Cor. 3:10–11; Eph. 4:15), Rev. Wilberforce Takyi, Sunyani East District Minister, acting on behalf of the Presbytery Chairperson, Rev. Benjamin Appiah, underscored the urgency incumbent upon Christians to proclaim the gospel of Christ. In continuity with the post-resurrection encounters of Christ and in faithful obedience to the Great Commission, Rev. Takyi affirmed that “the proclamation of the gospel stands as both the foundation and the driving force for holistic Christian growth.”

‎At the heart of this proclamation, Rev. Takyi noted, is the systematic exposition of the person and work of Jesus Christ—His birth, death, burial, and triumphant resurrection. These events, traditionally referred to as "The Christ Events" constitute the very substance of Christian faith and theology, each event bearing profound redemptive significance for humanity. Rev. Takyi therefore charged members to embody the character of Christ—marked by compassion, selflessness, and commitment—as they proclaim the gospel, while cautioning against the temptation to substitute Christ with other emphases in their preaching.

‎It is worth emphasizing that the supreme investment of God in humanity—His self-giving in the person of Jesus Christ—bears profound economic implications. This divine act of sacrificial love reveals both the depth of God’s grace and the immeasurable value He places on human redemption. Consequently, believers who genuinely apprehend and cherish Christ, and the significance of His redemptive work, are compelled to respond in gratitude and obedience. Such a response is expressed in a deliberate willingness to devote their resources—time, energy, and material means—toward the advancement of God’s mission.

‎In a brief address, Rev. Daniel Agyemang, Presbytery Director of Mission and Evangelism noted that the Presbytery has planted 34 Churches out of a target of 87 to be achieved by the close of 2028. As of December 2025, the Presbytery recorded a membership growth of 8,518, representing an increase of 7.80%. The total membership as of 31st December 2025 stand stood at 118,426. Rev. Agyemang ended by encouraging all Districts and Congregations to begin preparations to organize impactful evangelistic and discipleship activities.

|| CULTURAL RESONANCES IN CHRISTIAN FAITH: EMMANUEL CONGREGATION MARKS EASTER IN RICH TRADITIONAL EXPRESSION

‎On Sunday, April 5, 2026—coinciding providentially with the joy of the triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ—the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Emmanuel Congregation, Mmredane, in the Sunyani District celebrated a spiritually enriching and culturally affirming resurrection service. Although initially planned as part of the March Ghana Month observance, the rescheduled event unfolded with profound significance, embodying the message of hope and renewal associated with the resurrection within the context of Ghanaian identity.

‎The Church premises became a living tapestry of culture and faith, adorned not only with colorful traditional attire but also with the deeper symbolism of a people who, in Christ, bring their whole selves—history, identity, and heritage—into worship. The occasion was not only aesthetic; it was doxological. It affirmed that the Gospel does not erase culture but redeems and reorients it toward the glory of the Triune God.

‎The Guest Speaker, Osabarima Kwabena Yeboah Ababio, the krontihene of Odumase No. 1 Traditional Area, offered a keynote address that was both culturally grounded and theologically resonant. With due reverence, he began his presentation by acknowledging the leadership of the Church—Minister-in-Charge, Rev. Daniel Agyemang, the Presbyters, and the gathered communion of saints, commending their intentional effort to integrate cultural consciousness into the life of the Church.

‎In a reflection that echoed themes of general revelation and common grace, he described culture as the totality of a people’s life—their values, beliefs, knowledge systems, and moral imagination. Culture, he noted, is dynamic, undergoing continual refinement as communities discern and preserve what is life-giving while discarding what is harmful. This process, viewed theologically, mirrors the sanctifying work of the Spirit, who transforms human realities without annihilating them.

‎He further emphasized that Ghana’s cultural heritage predates colonial encounters and has endured through them, reminding the Church of its responsibility to engage history with both discernment and gratitude. Cultural diversity, he argued, is not a threat but a gift—a manifestation of the manifold wisdom of God expressed in human plurality. Variations in language, food, and social practices are not grounds for division but invitations to mutual appreciation and deeper unity.

‎Touching on language as a vessel of identity, he encouraged the preservation of indigenous dialects, even within regions like Bono where linguistic diversity abounds. In this, one hears an echo of Pentecost (Acts 2), where the Spirit affirms the multiplicity of tongues as a means of divine communication rather than confusion.

‎Importantly, he situated religion within the framework of culture, observing that expressions of worship are inevitably shaped by cultural context. Whether in Christianity, Islam, or African Traditional Religion, humanity seeks the Divine through culturally mediated forms. Yet within the Christian tradition itself, denominational differences testify to the adaptability of the Gospel across contexts—one faith, expressed in many forms, yet united in Christ.

‎Addressing the social implications of culture, he underscored the role of families and communities in transmitting values of respect, discipline, and communal responsibility. This call aligns with the biblical mandate for intergenerational discipleship (Deut. 6:6–9), where faith and values are diligently passed on as a sacred trust.

‎In conclusion, the speaker exhorted the Church to continue embracing initiatives such as Traditional Sunday—not as mere cultural exhibitions, but as missional action in celebrating culture within the household of faith. In this regard, the Church bears witness to an incarnational Gospel, entering human contexts and transforming them from within. Culture and Christianity, he affirmed, are not adversaries but partners in the divine mission when aligned with the virtues of love, justice, and holiness.

‎Thus, the Traditional Sunday at Emmanuel Congregation was more than an event; it was a theological statement—a celebration of the risen Christ who redeems not only souls but also stories, identities, and cultures, drawing all things into the unity of His grace.

‎Soli Deo Gloria!
