The Light of the World (Matthew 5:14-16)
----------------------------------------------------

Our world is engulfed in spiritual darkness. However, light dispels darkness. No one has ever been able to extinguish light with darkness. When light moves in, the darkness flees. As Christians, we are to let our lights shine to guide people to the light of truth. This means more than wearing a cross on a necklace. It requires us to lead our lives in such a way that others can see Christ living in us. (Jn. 13:35; 15:8, 2 Cor. 8:21; Phil. 2:14-16; Tit. 2:7, 8; 1 Pet. 2:12). MacArthur wrote, "Whether we hide our light because of fear of offending others, because of indifference and lovelessness, or because of anything else, we demonstrate unfaithfulness to the Lord.
