My Victory Is Now
Conclusion

But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! His head and hands had been broken.
(1 Samuel. 5:3-4).

There are moments when heaven seems silent, evil appears victorious, and hope lies shattered before us. Then we may be tempted to whisper with Ichabod, “The glory has departed.” But the ark in Dagon’s temple and Jesus in the tomb tell another story.
God may appear defeated without surrendering His throne.
The darkness cannot extinguish His glory.
The idols before which the world bows will not remain standing, and the grave that received Jesus could not keep Him.
What looks like God’s absence may become the place where His sovereign power is revealed most clearly.
Therefore, when faith is shaken and hope seems buried, do not mistake silence for abandonment or humiliation for defeat.
Turn your heart to the LORD. The God who brought down Dagon and raised Jesus from the dead is very much at work.
I declare that the Dagon in your family, finances, business, relationship and ministry is being brought down in total destruction. Jesus Christ, who was crucified, buried, has raisen with your answers in this victorious arms, shout Amen

(Your Enemies Are Disarmed).
Jesus and the Ark
The ark represented God’s holy presence among Israel, yet it could not be possessed, manipulated, or controlled.
In the New Testament, this theme reaches a deeper fulfillment in Jesus.
John writes that “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
The Greek verb translated “dwelt” is (eskēnōsen), from (skēnoō), meaning “to pitch a tent” or “to tabernacle.” John’s wording strongly evokes the biblical tabernacle, the place where God’s glory dwelt among Israel.
Significantly, John immediately adds, “and we have seen his glory.”
The language of dwelling and glory belongs to the world of Israel’s sanctuary traditions.
The sanctuary imagery now reaches a remarkable concentration in Jesus himself. In Him, the divine presence had come personally and bodily to dwell among His people.

The story also provides a striking Christian typological analogy. Like the ark, Jesus was handed over to Israel’s enemies and appeared to be defeated.
Yet His humiliation became the setting for God’s victory. Paul writes that through the cross Christ “disarmed the rulers and authorities” and triumphed over them instead (Col 2:15).

Israel believes the glory has departed. Philistia discovers just how heavy that glory can be.

Philistia becomes another Egypt
The echoes of the Exodus grow unmistakable.
The Philistines ask, “Why should you harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts?” (1 Sam 6:6). “Harden” (kibbedu) means to make the heart “heavy,” from the root (kaved).
The verb for sending the ark away, (shalach), is the same verb used for Pharaoh sending Israel out of Egypt, a link the narrator makes explicit (1 Sam 6:6).
Egypt held God’s people and suffered until release; Philistia holds the ark and suffers until it lets go.
They even return it with golden objects, echoing Israel’s exit from Egypt loaded with Egyptian valuables (Exod 12:35-36). The captors have become Pharaoh; the ark undergoes its own exodus.

Placing the ark in Dagon’s temple could therefore suggest that Dagon had won.
Everything that followed overturned that conclusion. Each morning, Dagon lay fallen before the ark until his head and hands lay severed on the threshold (1 Sam 5:4).
The defeated God had not been defeated at all.
But to see its depth, let us look at a carefully woven Hebrew wordplay that English translation, cannot fully reproduce.

The weight of glory
The Hebrew narrator sharpens the reversal. Dagon’s “hands” are cut off, and, immediately we are told that “the hand of the LORD was heavy” against Ashdod (1 Sam 5:6).
Dagon has no hands. The LORD’s hand is everywhere.

English readers can easily miss this additional wordplay.
Eli is called not only old but also “heavy” (kaved) in 1 Sam 4:18.
His daughter-in-law then laments the departure of “glory” (kavod) (1 Sam 4:21-22).
The words (kaved, “heavy”) and (kavod, “glory”) belong to the same Hebrew root, (k-b-d), associated with weight, honor, and glory. Then, in the very next chapter, the LORD’s own hand becomes “heavy” against the Philistines (1 Sam 5:6).

In chapter 6, the Philistine priests tell the people to “give glory” (kavod) to Israel’s God, hoping that He may “lighten His hand” upon them (1 Sam 6:5).
I prophetically declare that the Lord’s hand will be heavy against your enemies and they shall fill the heat and the weight of the glory you carry in Jesus mighty name Amen.

I have always found this story astonishing:
Israel is crushed, the ark is captured, and God appears humiliated before Dagon.
But the Hebrew text reveals something remarkable.
The apparent defeat is actually the beginning of victory.

THE ARK BEYOND CONTROL
Rethink one of the most fascinating stories in the Bible! (1 Sam 4-7).

Few episodes in Israel’s history are as disturbing as the capture of the ark of the covenant.
The LORD sat enthroned above its cherubim (1 Sam 4:4), yet Israel’s army was crushed, and the ark was taken into Philistine hands.
In the ancient Near East, victory was often understood to demonstrate whose god was stronger

This lesson is vital:
OUR TEARS ARE NOT WASTED.

They are heard in heaven.
Rachel teaches us that grief is not a failure of faith, but rather a language of faith.

Her tears can become the voice of all who suffer.
Her exclusion from the cave becomes her inclusion in the heart of God’s grieving people.
God does not dismiss our
sorrow; He collects it.

Rachel was broken, and God, in His mercy, bends His ear most readily to the broken.

For the Bible said in Psalm 51:17. A broken spirit and a contrite (remorseful) heart are sacrifices God will not despise (or reject),

This is a profound comfort for anyone who feels too shattered to pray; our very brokenness is our credential before God
Our brokenness does not define our future; it is the very raw material of redemption.
The only question is whether we will believe it and act accordingly.
And that is the final pastoral word: belief is not just intellectual assent; it is the courage to keep walking through grief, through betrayal, through the silence of God, trusting that the same Hand that guided Jacob through his wreckage is guiding you through yours. Do not give up.

The God of Rachel, the God of Judah, the God of the broken and the betrayed, is still writing reemption stories.
And He is not finished with yours, just trust Him, He willcome true for you and your family.

REBEKKAH AND CHRIST

This “I WILL GO ” echoes not only Abraham’s call but also a greater journey yet to come.
For just as Rebekah left her father’s house to be united with the promised son of Abraham, so the eternal Son would one day leave His Father’s glory to be united with His bride on earth.
In the fullness of time, the Father sent not a servant but His own Son, Jesus, to seek a people for His name from every nation—not by coercion, but by the Spirit’s gentle drawing.
And where Rebekah said elekh (“I will go”), Christ said, “Behold, I have come to do your will, O God” (Heb 10:7).
He ran toward our thirst, offering not merely water for camels but living water for sin-weary souls.
On the cross, the true suffering Servant poured Himself out (Isaiah 53), and at the empty tomb, He ran ahead to Galilee to greet His own.
Even every act of hospitality in Genesis 24 is a shadow of the gospel: the Father prepares a Son, the Spirit guides a servant-prayer, and the Bride in faith answers, “Come.” And because Christ said elekh from heaven to earth, every believer can now say elekh to the wedding feast of the Lamb that will take place in heaven.
Precisely one let us all ran the race with all seriousness to participate in wedding feast of the Lamb, remember you have come this far to refresh ourselves with the living water for our weary souls.

“Adam” is tied to the “ground” he was formed from. “Woman” is built directly out of the word for “man.” “Bread” and “war” come from the same root because wars are usually conflicts over resources and food. Even “heaven” may carry an echo of “water” within it. Even “word” and “wilderness” share a root, as if the emptiest places are where a voice is heard most clearly. Here are five Hebrew word pairs worth noticing:

1. Adam / Adama
“man” / “ground”
Genesis deliberately connects adam with adama. The human is formed from the dust of the ground, and the similarity of the words reinforces humanity’s earthly origin. Adam belongs to the adama from which he was taken.

2. Ish / Isha
“man” / “woman”
Genesis 2:23 places ish and isha together in a beautiful wordplay: “She shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man.” Their similar sound emphasizes relationship, shared identity, and the profound connection between man and woman.

3. Lechem / Milchama
“bread” / “war”

For those who can’t read Hebrew yet, the connection is not obvious, but it is there in the original

Both words carry the consonants.
Their similarity creates a striking association between provision and struggle. Bread represents what sustains life, while war often grows out of humanity’s struggle over land, food, security, and resources.

4. Shamayim / Mayim
“heaven” / “water”
A traditional Hebrew interpretation hears mayim, “water,” within shamayim, “heavens.” This beautifully reflects the imagery of Genesis 1, where God separates the waters below from the waters above.

5. Davar / Midbar
“word” / “wilderness”

Davar and midbar share the consonants, creating a powerful spiritual association. The midbar, the wilderness, is often the place where the davar, the word of God, is heard. Moses encountered God in the wilderness. Israel received God’s words there. The prophets also withdrew into lonely places where the divine voice could be heard more clearly, and so did the
