PRAYERS AGAINST EVIL AND CALAMITY
TEXT: Job 5: 12–24

Background:
- Job 5, found in the Old Testament book of Job, delves into human suffering and divine justice.
- Eliphaz the Temanite, one of Job's friends, delivers a speech emphasising divine retribution and the importance of repentance.
- He highlights God's ability to bring justice and deliverance to the righteous.

PRAY THIS
1. Heavenly Father, thwart the schemes of the crafty, preventing their plans from coming to fruition (Job 5:12).
2. Father, ensnare the wise in their own cunning, turning their strategies against them (Job 5:13a).
3. Bring to swift conclusion the counsel of the cunning (Job 5:13b).
4. Shield us from the sword of slander and evil speech (Job 5:15).
5. Father, deliver us from calamities, whether natural disasters or unforeseen accidents (Job 5:19).
6. Protect us from intentional evil, deceit, manipulation, and exploitation (Job 5:19).
- Examples of intentional evil: Joseph's brothers' jealousy, Potiphar's wife's false accusation.
- Pray against deceit using Psalm 119:29.
7. Preserve us from death during times of hardship and danger (Job 5:20).
8. Guard us from hurtful gossip and slanderous speech (Job 5:21).
9. Grant us joy even in difficult times (Job 5:22).
10. Instill fearlessness in us amidst adversity (Job 5:22).
- Fear is a trap (Job 5:23).
11. Secure our homes and dwellings (Job 5:24).
12. Ensure that none of our possessions are lost or stolen (Job 5:24).

DECLARATION:
- Declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
- Condemn every tongue that rises against us in judgment (Isaiah 54:17).
