You must believe in the Lord because with God all things are possible. When you read John 11, which talks about Lazarus who was dead and buried in the tomb for four days but the good Lord raise him up to life. This gives us much hope to believe what the good Lord can do.

Moreover, you are always on His mind. From John 11:11, you can see clearly that Mary and her sister Martha were always on the mind of Jesus. Even though He did not go at once, He did not also forget that they needed Him. Brethren also believe in the Lord at any point in time because He always have you on mind...

Clothes for the Climate

Over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14

Colossians 3:8–17

Isaiah 3–4; Galatians 6

While removing the price tag from an item of winter clothing I had purchased, I smiled at these words on the back: “WARNING: This innovative product will make you want to go outdoors and stay there.” When properly clothed for the climate, a person can survive and even thrive in harsh and changing weather conditions.

The same principle is true in our spiritual lives. As followers of Jesus, our all-weather spiritual wardrobe has been prescribed by the Lord in His Word, the Bible. “As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clotheyourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. . . . Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Col. 3:12–13 emphasis added).

These garments that God provides—such as kindness, humility, and gentleness—allow us to meet hostility and criticism with patience, forgiveness, and love. They give us staying power in the storms of life.

When we face adverse conditions at home, school, or work, the “clothing” God tells us to wear protects us and enables us to make a positive difference. “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity” (v. 14).

Dressing according to God’s guidelines doesn’t change the weather—it equips the wearer.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, help me to put on Your garment of love so that I am prepared for whatever life brings me today.

NOTE
Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life.

_THURSDAY 8th JUNE, 2017_

TOPIC: *Is Your Back Turned To God?*
TEXT: _JEREMIAH 32:26-35_

*KEY VERSE:*
*_"And they have turned unto me the back, and not the faces though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction"_* (Jeremiah 32:33).

There is nothing that best demonstrates and indicates defiance, impudence, irreverence and rebellion as when a child turns his back to the parents while he is being corrected. The act indicates but one thing: that the child does not appreciate the correction of the parents and so is not willing and ready to change. When this becomes the case, such child is usually left to himself to suffer and bear the consequences of his stubborn and impudent action.

Prophet Jeremiah in our text talks about the certainty of the judgment of God upon Judah because of their repeated rebellions and sins against Him. This was in spite of His repeated warnings and pleadings with them. God here assures them of His omnipotence and power to bring His predicted judgment upon them to pass. The fact that they turned their back and not their face to God shows their unwillingness to accept the rebuke of God and amend their ways.

It is sad that there are many people today who still behave like the people in Jeremiah's days. In spite of all the warnings of God and His teachings through His servants and ministers, they still choose to go their own way. The very things that God warns them against are the things they take delight in. Instead of repenting, they remain adamant in their sins and rebellion. Such people will certainly be visited with severe punishment and judgment.

Where is your face turned? Do you accept the rebuke of God and go ahead to make your ways right or do you stubbornly turn your back to God in defiance and rebellion? Remember, it is futile to fight against God. Nobody does that and wins. Submit to Him this moment and let Him cuddle you in His love.

Jeremiah 37:15 & 20

*_15_* "And the officials were enraged at Jeremiah, and they beat him and imprisoned him in the house of Jonathan the secretary, for it had been made a prison. _*20*_ Now hear, please, O my lord the king: let my humble plea come before you and do not send me back to the house of Jonathan the secretary, lest I die there.”

The Devil's desire is to see man in his chains, suffering in the hands of sins. His desire is to see man in his prison of sin with no liberty. One of man's serious burdens is to be freed from sin and not to return to it. Jeremiah being put into prison and tormented represent man being chained to sin. But if we can be like Jeremiah seeking God for liberty from our sins and not to return to them, we would have God's life impacted into ours. What is your prison, what are you suffering from? Let sin rule no more over you, STAND UP, CRY OUT & YOU SHALL BE DELIVERED. All God is waiting for you to do is to call upon his name for salvation. But remember, Jeremiah said in the last verse that "do not let me return to the house of Jonathan lest I die there". Yes, when you are being freed from sin and you go back to your sin, you might die in it.

Brethren, after God saves us, let's do our best to keep a healthy relationship with the spirit to avoid evil. Shalom.
