- Leviticus 19:32 – “Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.”
- Psalm 71:9 – “Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.”
- Proverbs 16:31 – “Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.”

Beloved, today we gather to reflect on a sacred duty often overlooked in our fast-paced world—the care of the aged. Outreach to the elderly is not charity; it is obedience to God’s command. In honoring them, we honor the Lord who has sustained them through the years.

1. The Value of the Aged
- The elderly are living testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
- Their wisdom, experiences, and prayers are treasures for the younger generation.
- Society may see weakness, but God sees crowns of splendor.

2. The Call to Compassion
- Jesus showed compassion to the vulnerable—the sick, the poor, the forgotten.
- In Matthew 25:40, He reminds us: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
