*BUILDING ON A SOLID FOUNDATION - BE A WISE BUILDER*

_SCRIPTURE READING:_
Matthew 7: 24- 25
James 1: 22

*_Exposition_*

Before a Christian starts building on the solid foundation after gathering enough materials which is the word of God, he or she has to make sure he or she is building as a wise builder. Lots of building materials could be wasted and yet not achieve success if we don't build wisely. Also, failure to build wisely could result in the absolute collapse of the entire building at the strike of a storm. Jesus clearly taught us how to build wisely without any ambiguity. Gathering materials is not equal to building. After reading, studying, meditating and listening to the word of God, Jesus taught that we only become wise builders when we put the word of God to work as James admonished. The moment we become doers of what we have learnt from the Word of God, then it means we are building wisely. This means that any word of God we put to work builds us in such a way that no flood or winds (the gates of Hell) can put us down.

Knowing the stand of the word of God yet involving yourself in corrupt practices, walking in hatred, lying, cheating, slandering, etc means you are not building wisely. We can put up a strong building simply by being doers of the word of God. Decide to start today. Regardless of the consequences, be a word practitioner. It won't be easy because you will face lots of hard times practicing the word of God but at the end you will have a very strong building that no storm can collapse. I think this is what made Jesus a success on earth. We can do it. You can be a wise builder. Let's do it.

*BUILDING ON THE SOLID FOUNDATION - CHRIST THE ONLY OPTION*

*Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:11*

*Exposition*

The foundation of any building determines its strength and life span. In constructing the foundation of a building, future probable natural disaster and the load of the superstructure are always considered. In the same vein, all Christians are also the building of God (1 Corinthians 3:9) and ought to have a solid foundation that the gates of Hell will not be able to overcome. That is why God in His wisdom made Himself the foundation of the Christian through Christ Jesus. So if nothing could stand against God, then nothing can stand against us because He is the foundation.

The moment one believes that Jesus is the Christ as Peter proclaimed and accepts Him into one's life, that foundation is established. The belief in any other person or even a doctrine apart from Christ, shows that one has built him or herself a false foundation which cannot support any building. To have in place the solid foundation which is Jesus Christ, we need to put personal faith in Christ Jesus and have a personal relationship with Him.

Do you have that witness in your heart? Are you convinced Jesus knows you and you also know Him? Are you convinced beyond doubt that He died and resurrected? On this foundation alone can you build your Christian faith and can be certain that no storm can bring you down because He is your anchor. Be sincere with yourself and take a decision if you have not yet done that.
