Why was John the Baptist preaching repentance to the Jews? In matthew, John the Baptist was preaching to the Jews to repent from the old ways.
Jews are those who knew the word of God, descendants of Jacob, Isaac and Abraham, etc.
The reason why John the Baptist was preaching repentance was because, the Jews thought that, they were already saved and no matter what, when they die, they will make heaven. Which was wrong!
In this 21st century, there are prophesying Christians having the same thought of these old Jews. It's time to repent from your old ways, and live a life that show your faith. Go to God and ask for forgiveness and start a new life to enjoy the victories that come from salvation! Stay bless.
